Ethridge to capitalize on negative campaign
EVANSTON, Ill. (AP)__ Crepe Diem Party presidential candidate William T. Ethridge finally spoke up Wednesday night regarding the ongoing Boba Party primary (Feb. 9), and he's already coming out swinging.
"I don't even know what to say about it all," Ethridge said from his campaign headquarters on Ridge and Simpson. "It's just like this community to take a satirical article and turn it into some ridiculous political charade.  Shouldn't they be busy with their mock trial club meetings?"
Ethridge is feared by some, who feel he has a very "presidential name," and Joyce Lee's
public declaration of support for his campaign is raising eyebrows.
But Ethridge is ready for this challenge.
"Bring on the fire," he said. "Lighting up is just a hobby for me. Going up in smoke is a pleasure."

Xie and Li take part in a spelling debate; Li earns two more endorsements
EVANSTON, Ill. (AP)__ At a fundraising dinner at Foster-Walker Complex Wednesday night, Boba Party candidate Newton Li and Independent Chinese Freedom Fighters candidate Ke Xie engaged in a spelling debate to see who would establish intellectual supremacy.
The dinner was attended by members of the media, Campaign Xie manager Michael Yao and local stud Andrew Ong.
Words like 'exacerbate', 'resusciate' and some word I don't remember were used.  Things were going pretty calmly until campaign manager Yao decided to get involved.
In an attempt to help Xie's candidacy, he demanded Li to spell the word 'bureau'.
When Li spelled the word correctly, and everyone seemed to agree with the spelling, Yao leaped up and declared the spelling incorrect. When asked how it was really spelled, Yao replied:
  "Bureau.....b-u-e-r-a-u."
The entire room exploded in laughter while Yao tried to insist that he was only trying to test Li and see if he really knew how to spell it.  No one believed him.
How this will damage Xie is yet to be seen.
Meanwhile, Li has picked up a graduate endorsement of his own to counter
Seung-Joo Lee's endorsement of Andrew Kim.  Joseph A. Tan endorsed Li, as Boramie Kim, a childhood friend of Kim, followed suit.
Kim is Area Coordinator of Li's small group.
"Area group whut whut!!!!" Boramie Kim said in a public release.
Ethridge selects Lee as running mate for G.E.
EVANSTON, Ill. (AP)__ Crepe Diem presidential candidate William T. Ethridge has announced that advertisement design wizard Joyce Lee will be his running mate in the February 16 general election.
"Me and Will will 'lay low' and not bash the other candidates," Lee said. "I think others will see us as a proper alternative to all this negativity."
An Ethridge/Lee ticket is going to be be intriguing.  If nothing else, it causes many members of other parties to take a second look at Ethridge, whom many see as no more than a dry-witted aristocrat.
Ethridge is the second candidate to announce a running mate for the general election. ICFF candidate Ke Xie announced that NU Gunbound Addicts Anonymous chair Joseph P. Park will be his running mate in the general election.
Either Newton Li or Andrew Kim will have to select a running mate after one of them wins the Boba Primary.  Nicholas Collins and Rebecca Tsang have until Monday to select a running mate.
Amidst calls to drop out, Xie issues first speech
EVANSTON, Ill. (AP)__ ICFF candidate Ke Xie released a speech today that outlines some of his stances on issues that he feels are critical.
Xie also issued a crudely-put-together advertisement that makes no sense considering he's not a member of the Boba Party.
Meanwhile, other parties are demanding that he drop out of the general election.
"Ke has no chance," Boba party official William Yoon said. "He has no business running, what does he think he's doing?"
Xie has also had issues with lying to the media about hiring campaign staff.  His announcement that Hannah Kim and Sun Park "joined" his staff are not confirmed because Xie is asking women who have no idea what is going on with the election and so they blindly say 'yes' so that Xie will stop bothering them.
But Xie is admanant about his campaign's viability.
"I'm going to win," Xie said.
