Daan Tubo was chosen by the group because of several reasons. The first is geographical location. The community is located near the University of the Philippines making it very accessible for all the group members. It is also a community that is familiar to them and thus their security is also assured by the community head that they know. And mostly because the group felt that Daan Tubo is a community that is often overlooked. Its location has often hidden this community of almost 2000 people from the view of passersby. This profile is for the benefit of the people living there. There is no existing Daan Tubo community profile that can be accessed by the community and its barangay. Providing the community with valued information on their current conditions will help them understand their current problems. Information from the profile will also assist them in their future plans for their community. This will also be useful for future organizations who wish to help the Daan Tubo community. This will serve as their guide as to what aid the community should receive first.

The purpose of this community profile of the Daan Tubo informal settlement area is:

For the group to document the community�s conditions, in terms of geography, demography, education, health and livelihood; and
Figure out what are the community�s major problems, concerns and needs.

The group aims to:

Provide the Daan Tubo informal settlement area a community profile; and
Help out the community in any way it could, instill hope for the people and impart on them things that can change their lives even in some small way.

The group collected all its information through the following means:

1. Surveys / Interviews
The group interviewed the residents of the community face-to-face, with questions from uniform survey sheets. The group members then wrote the replies on the survey sheets themselves. There are 41 correspondents in all, 29 are female, between the ages 18 to 68 yrs. old, and 12 are male, between the ages 26 to 53 yrs. old.

2. Key Informant Interviews
The key informants who were interviewed were Barangay Loyola Heights 2nd Kagawad Diana Bronia who is a resident of the Daan Tubo community, and Ms. Edna Cinco, President of the Aktibong Mamamayan ng Daan Tubo.

3. Official Barangay Documents
The group visited the Brgy. Loyola Heights barangay hall to request for its official barangay profile. These documents helped the group a lot because the Daan Tubo community doesn�t have its own official community profile. The barangay profile contained a summary list of persons within the depressed areas, list of Barangay Loyola Heights officials, activities and facilities.
