DAAN TUBO ONLINE COMMUNITY PROFILE

Daan Tubo is an informal settlement community located along Katipunan Avenue and is beside J. Escaler St. neighborhood community. Its name comes from the MWSS water pipeline that is located underneath the main road of the community.

Through surveys and key-interviews the Ka-tulong group of UP CSSP NSTP-CWTS-1 has created a a profile that aims to provide the community and other concerned sectors with current up-to-date information on Daan Tubo.

Daan Tubo is part of a much bigger system � its barangay. Information on the current political system of the barangay and the community is provided. And an ongoing conflict between political leaders is also discussed. There is also information on current barangay and community activities.

Livelihood is the main concern in this community. As seen in the statistics from the survey only 44% of the population is employed. This is also a main concern for most of the residents in the area. Other concerns involve electricity, land titles, health, family planning and youth programs.

Because of the limited resources available for a group of 6 female teenagers, the group has opted to focus possible activities and programs for the youth. These include health programs, cleanliness drives and accessory making seminars.
