Inuyasha is very tremendous and awesome anime that currently airs on Cartoon Network in the U.S. It is about a modern day Japanese 9th grade girl (By the name of Kogome) who the reincarnation of an ancient priestess. One day Kogome feels something strange while she is next her family's ancient well and out of no where she gets sucked in by a monster and a jewel comes out of her body. When Kogome gets out of the well she is in feudal Japan. Everyone in feudal Japan that thinks she is Kikiyo (her anncient incarnation) since they look very familiar. Later at night the demon that attacked Kogome is back and looking for the ancient jewel(the jewel will give whoever uses it tremondous powers)imbeded in Kogome's body while Kogome is trying to run she finds a Dog Demon stuck on a tree by an arrow by the name of Inuyasha, and so the series continues.
