Ground controll to Major Tom! Hmm... I wonder why I feel so at ease taking pictures of such phalic items?
Perspective, my look at the size of that thing! Remember it's not the size of your rocket that counts, but the fuel and thrust that goes along behind it!
Shuttle again, that's the rocket booster for it in the background
That's the shuttle! You can go in a tour this one, cool!

Welcome to the sunny south! Here is a group of pictures from North Carolina. Upper left one is a view from the Blue Ridge Parkway, if you ever get a chance to
DRIVE IT! It's amazing and beautiful. Upper right is the Biltmore Mansion, my summer home... yea right I wish! It's a another lovely piece of history to see while in N.C. state. As is are the dogwood trees in bloom, (left), and Fort Bragg, or Pope AFB. (below).
If you are ever the sort of traveler that likes to find the oddities in life, take heed on this: DO NOT FALL PREY TO THIS ADVERTISEMENT! "See the world's largest alligator! See Gomek! Gomek Lives! etc. etc." Usually you'll be peppered with billboards for this while heading towards St. Augustine, Florida. Well, we were armed with a copy of Guinness World book of records, indeed he checks out as the worlds largest alligator in captivity and all that... but what is failed to be mentioned, is Gomek is dead. When we got in there and started looking for him, what we found was he died of a heart attack, and well he was still there, I couldn't justify the $20 entrance fee to see a stuffed dead alligator. But some of the shock of that can be somewhat lessened by feeding tiny baby crocodiles kibble you can buy from a gumball machine like dispenser, and pretending to be the crocodile hunter with a alligator statue the park provides you and oggling over other countries croc's and 'gators'. So if you ever go to that alligator park, you were forewarned!
Can't visit Florida without at least bringing back some oranges either real or just pictures. Also around St. Augustine/Palm Coast are some very wonderful and cheap to get into parks! Which is where these pictures around this box were taken.
Though no trip to Florida is complete without checking out what is going on at NASA! Tell ya when that shuttle lands boy do you hear a sonic boom in towns far away! Below are pictures of the shuttle and the rocket garden. It's a neat trip for all you true nerds out there like me and school aged rocket scientist wanna be's!
Here is an interesting idea on the size of those old rockets up there. The picture to the right there is taken at a distance, look how tiny the people are in comparison! The only one that was tiny was the shuttle by itself, about the size of an airplane! But when set up to launch with the boosters and all, it's pretty dang impressive!
Now just like no trip to Florida is complete without that bag of oranges, same with witnessing a bike week in Daytona Beach! Above is an interesting wreck that happened, no seriously that picture was taken at the Broken Spoke Saloon, they have old bikes hanging up in the trees just for the occasion. Sure makes crepe paper party streamers look like a booger doesn't it? Towards the left there is a family friend and myself gearing up to head out to all these cool biker hot spots! Now a little lower to the left is a guy at the Boot Hill Saloon, (Have a seat, you're better here than across the street. FYI there's a graveyard across the street from this bar.) Now this guy was carving this ice sculpture with yes, a chainsaw. He seemed to have all his fingers too, but I'm not sure about the blood on the clothing and mask. We made sure to tip him very well. And below are pictures from the Iron Horse Saloon, this place is huge! You can wander from catwalk to catwalk in a drunken stupor and still never make it to the exit! The band there was pretty good, and the crowd in a good mood too. (FYI don't pull up into this place without a Harley, unless you plan on parking way in the back or its a vintage non-Harley! Ha ha ha ha!) As well as another bike in the tree from the Broken Spoke. And the famous Main Street in Daytona all filled up with bikes!
dare ya to click it!
