Isaac Franks & Elizabeth Gann

Isaac and Elizabeth were married  July 4, 1849 in Itawamba, MS.

Isaac Franks was born between abt. 1830 in TN. He came with his parents to Itawamba, MS.

Elizabeth Gann the daughter of William Gann and Clarissa  Franks (??)  was born abt. 1831. She died  abt 1899 . There  are two stories about where she was buried. Both

Taken from "A History of Chickasaw County, Ms. Volume II by The Chiskasaw County Historical and Genealogy Society."

# 1 Elizabeth Franks came to the Macedonia area of Chickasaw County, Ms after the Civil War when John S. Gann appears in the same community. A grave marked with a stone and flowers placed there by John S. Gann's granddaughter, great granddaughter or gg-granddaughter, is for Aunt Bet Franks. This grave is beside John S. Gann. Family members believe this is the grave of Elizabeth Franks.     **  Taken from "A History of Chickasaw County, Ms. Volume II by The Chiskasaw County Historical and Genealogy Society."

#2  and on page 427 it says she was buried in Warren - Butler Cemetery thirteen miles north of Fulton, MS. Marion Co. This could very well be true  because I'm not sure where she lived after 1880 because 1890 census records were destroyed and she died before the 1900 census. Also I am not sure where counties are located in MS.

Isaac and Elizabeth Franks were on the 1850 Otawamba, Ms as husband and wife and one son John

They were on the 1860 census in  Big Fork, Polk AR.

In 1870 Elizabeth and children are in Chickasaw Co, MS without Isaac. He was never with his family again. Whether he served and died  in the Civil War or if he just died is a mystery at this point.

Their youngest son James C. is on the 1870 census as being born in Arkansas  abt. 1861
