We love to have parents help at the derby workshops, and appreciate the interest in their son's project. We want to make this very clear, it is your son's project, let him do the work!
In order to make sure that the kids get to do the work on their own cars we offer several solutions for the Adult craftsman in the house:
1) Every one gets to race, so if your design is so much better than your kid's prove it! Make your own car. Let's see who wins the race.
2) No Scout's car leaves the Pack until it is ready to be painted. That means all the cutting, sanding, shaping, and primer are completed at the Pack workshops. We expect the car to return for weigh in looking about the same size and shape that it was before being painted.
It is not that we don't want you parents to have fun and be involved in your Scout's activity. We want your Scout to have fun and be involved in his activity.
