Pinewood Derby Workshop Guidelines

1) Strict rules of behavior, and safety, must be adhered to at the workshops.  We want everyone to be safe, and injury free.

  A) Tools are for working.  They are not weapons, or playthings!

  B) Tools are to be used with adult permission, and supervision.

  C) If you don?t own it, don?t touch it.

  D) NO RUNNING with tools, NO RUNNING around tools.  NO RUNNING!!

  E) Make sure your work area is safe, and no one is in your work area when using tools.

  F) Paint goes on your car, nowhere else, and on no one else.

2) Read the rules and regulation handout.  Car specs. Are given there.

3) Start drawing your car design now, and have it ready by the 1st workshop.  You will be doing part of the work for your car with hand tools, keep this in mind.  You may want to consider more than one design.

4) If you have a dremmel type tool, please ask your parent to bring it to the workshops.

5) The Pack will provide a primer/base coat, you will need to purchase your own paint to decorate your car.  Acrylic paints work well, and dry relatively fast. We will be working on this at the workshops.

6) Please bring optional decoration accessories that you want to glue on, to the 2nd workshop.  They will not be put on until after you have painted your car, but we will need them for weighing your car.

All workshops will be at Carver from 6:30 to 7:45 PM.
.
The last Workshop is an inspection, and mandatory for all racers.
