Achievement 10 - Family Fun

Do both of these requirements:

a.   Go on a trip with members of your family.

Visit one of the following:  Park, Airport, Farm or ranch, Museum, or Seashore

BEFORE YOU GO.  This of the things that you might need, and pack them in a handy bag.  Your needs might differ according to how you are traveling (by car, train, bus, subway, ferry or bicycle or on foot)

CAR BEHAVIOUR AND SAFETY.  An adult family membe should make sure the care is safe to drive before the trip begins.

You will be expected to get yourself ready and agree to:
    Buckle yourself in with a seat belt.
    Change seats only at roadside stops.
    Keep your hand and arms inside the car.
    Keep doors locked at all times
    Keep the rear window of a station wagon closed.
    Save paper and trash for roadside barrels. Don't litter.
    Pack everything in the trunk or carrier except snacks, game bag and books.
    Don't be noisy or shout inside the car.
    Use good manners and be considerate of others while traveling.

WHAT TO DO FOR A TRIP IN TOWN:  Find out what time tours are given at a museum or other place of interest.  Ask if a reservation is required.  Arrive on time.  Stay with your group.  Treat your guide with respect.  Listen to what he or she says.  Keep the noise down - be polite.

b.   Have a family "make-and-do night.

Get together and make homemade games, things for the holidays or party decorations.

Achievement 12 - Family Outdoor Adventures

Do three of the following requirements:

a.   Go camping with your family. When you spend time outdoors and stay overnight in a tent, camper, trailer or motor home, that's camping.  Be sure to help your family pack for the trip.  You will need to be ready for changes in the weather.  If can get cold at night or rain suddenly.  Pack things that deep you warm and dry.

b.    Go on a hike with your family. A hike is more than a walk.  when you hike, you go exploring to find out something.  You can hike in a city, forest preserves, county, state or national parks, or even the zoo.  NEVER HIKE ALONE!

c.    Have a picnic with your family.

d.    Attend an outdoor event with you family.

e.    Plan your ourdoor family day.  Think of some things you would like to do outdoors.  Explain these ideas to your family.  Listen carefully to the ideas other family memeber have.
