Fjalster, Tuna, Kalmar Lan April 3 1922 Dear Irene: A warm thank you for your dear letter and photos which were very welcome you may believe. I remember so well how you looked but cannot see any likeness now compared to when you were seven years old. Only your hair is the same, I think. Mama said you resemble your mama a little bit. You wonder if I could read your letter. That I could just fine. I hope you can understand what I am writing. I recall so well when you were going to write home to your papa. I helped you with the words and you cried and wrote with great effort. Since then you have written many letters. You are now 22 years old. Just think how time has flown. I will be 30 years old soon and there are quite a few years' difference in our ages. Old age comes on us fast. I am next to the youngest of my sisters. Nancy, if you remember, is youngest and is 25 years old. What kind of a position do you have in the bank? There you must be paid a large salary. Are you having summer weather in California now? We have snow and ice now and it looks like we will not have summer very soon. I am wondering if you have heard from our cousin (Karlberg) in Nyshult. He is taking care of the money you inherited from Grandfather, who was his father. We have not seen them for some time. His brother, Axel, is engaged to be married. Perhaps we will meet at his wedding. Just think how nice it would be if that could happen. We have no photos just now to send you but will try to snap a few this summer. Fond greetings from us all to Uncle Karl and Clarence, also his wife. But first and last to you. Your humble cousin, Hilma (Sjoblad) Write soon.
