Dear Irene:

A good continuance in the New Year is wished you from Cousin Hilma.

After we got "your" address from Uncle J A Karlberg (I use the word "du" (the familier form of "you") which we used when we spoke to each other a long time ago) it occured to me that I should send you a few lines. We have wished many times that we could have something from you. But you have perhaps forgotten your relatives here as you were quite young when you were in Sweden. I remember so well that summer. We were so happy when we heard we were going to have visitors from America and such a great sorrow afterward. It was hard to understand that Aunt Mina should return to her old home to die.

Grandfather is now dead since 4 years ago.

The case is that there is some money here that belongs to you but the administrator cannot get a release without proof from you that you are the rightful heirs. When everything is settled and the money is available, it cannot be but a small amount that remains in the bank. Clarence should come here to collect and have a chance to see Sweden.

Uncle in Nyshult (A. S. Karlberg) is also dead. Now there is only mama left living of your mama's family. My sisters, Ida. Emmy and Nancy (Irene's playmate) are married. All three live here. Cousins Edit and Selma (Karlson) in Holbackshult are also married.

Now I must close with hopes of getting an answer, also photos, some time.

Best regards from us all. Greet Uncle and Clarence.

Your humble cousin,

HILMA (Sjoblad) )
