-Mike Rivers
Ask the Hens: Thanks for joining us. We've had a lot of requests for a Mike Rivers interview.
Mike Rivers: My pleasure.
ATH: First, could you tell us your favorite Mudhen moment of your career thus far?
MR: You know, many would think making it to the championship last year would by my favorite moment of my Mudhen career so far. Wrong. Coming from a 19th ranked team in the country during my college season I've learned that getting there just isn't good enough. Winning it is a must. Therefore, I'd have to say my walk-off homerun to win by the ten run rule is my favorite memory. I've been known to come through when it doesn't mean much and not contribute in pressure situations.
ATH: You're out of college now, and some of the fans have been concerned about players leaving the area and the Mudhens. Is this something you see in your future?
MR: As of now I'm unemployed and homeless, so I'm all game for being a Mudhen. However, I do feel I'll be leaving the area to find a job when the time comes.
ATH: What advice would you give a youngster with dreams of becoming a Mudhen?
MR: Follow your heart. That's what I do (Napoleon Dynamite game me this advice once).
ATH: Well, Mike, thanks for stopping by, and good luck this weekend. We look forward to watching you lead the Mudhens to two more victories.
MR: Thank you, ATH. I'm also looking forward to helping with my defensive play.
