| CARPENTER The carpenter is one of the most essential parts of each races' society, and since nearly everybody wants their services, they are in high demand. Carpenters, in short, build buildings. This ranges from private homes to places of business. Carpenters have a wide variety of things they can make. They will need wood for all of these, which can be found pretty much anywhere besides villages and towns. A location with proper space is required for each building. All buildings come with basic furniture and decor, but nothing fancy. For each building, a selling price is mentioned. Use this as your base, and raise or lower it according to demand. CARPENTER'S WARES 1. Small Building: Time Required: 10 Days ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Prof. Lvl Required: 1 ~ Build Cost: 40 The Small Building is basic building, for residences only. It is one floor and has a sitting room in front, a dining room/kitchen, and a bedroom (2 beds). Suitable for individual characters or a small number of people. It is the least expensive building to make, and should sell for around 125 rupees. 2. Normal Building: Time Required: 12 days ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Prof. Lvl Required: 2 ~ Build Cost: 55 Normal Buildings are slightly larger than Small Buildings, and can be used for larger residences or professions that allow "Generic Buildings" under their description. They have the same rooms featured in a Small Building, but also a room out front for selling wares and a small room adjacent to it for creating goods. If this is used as a residence, these rooms can be converted into living spaces. Recommended selling price is 150 rupees. 3. Large Building: Time Required: 15 days ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Prof. Lvl Required: 3 ~ Build Cost: 65 Large Buildings are exactly the same as Normal Buildings, except an additional selling and good creation room is added on. This allows for two professions to be practiced in the same area or two different people to work in the same building. Recommended selling price is 175 rupees. 4. Two-Story Building: Time Required: 16 days ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Prof. Lvl Required: 3 ~ Build Cost: 70 Two-Story Buildings are identical to Large Buildings. They have two separate floors, however. The purchaser can decide if he wants two shops/creation places downstairs and living quarters upstairs, or one shop and living quarters area in one place. Two-Story Buildings allow for more extensions than Large Buildings. Cost should be around 185 rupees. 5. Special Buildings: Time Req.: Varies ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Prof. Lvl Req.: Varies ~ Build Cost: Varies Special Buildings are buildings that a certain profession needs. Their cost, building time, and features all vary and are listed under the profession that uses them. Like Normal Buildings, these buildings have the basic living quarters included. 6. Festival Buildings: Time Required: 12 days ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Prof. Lvl Required: 4 ~ Build Cost: 50 Festival Buildings are usually purchased by the government for special festivals. The buildings made include a stage for performances, stands for seating, and 5 booths for wandering merchants to sell their wares in. These things can be taken down and set up easily, so future building is not needed on later occasions. Recommended cost is 150 rupees. WARES BENEFITS Buildings are very helpful for people to have. Many professions require buildings; without one, a character cannot construct or sell his wares. On the residential side, characters who get sleep in a building as opposed to a tent receive a +1 ACS bonus. CARPENTER'S BUILDINGS The Carpenter does his work at building sites, so he does not need any building to work in. If the Carpenters work for the government, they can receive orders from the Leader's Residence. If they are independant, they must have a generic building where they can take orders and stock equipment. BECOMING A CARPENTER Carpenting is a good, profitable job, but the money you make can vary. Carpenters work best in groups, as each extra member will help to lower to the time it takes to build something. For each level each character is over the required level, drop one day from the completion time. Drop an additional day for every two carpenters working. The minimum time it takes to construct a building is two days. This creates a delicate balance. The more people working on a project, the less time it takes to complete it. However, each carpenter will get less in return as it has to be split more ways. When you start your carpenting career, it may be a good idea to get a job with the government at first. The government will pay you a salary, which is a nice and consistent. However, you can make more money on your own, but you'll need other carpenters to help. Once you find a few others, you can go on and create your own business. CARPENTER EXTENDER While normal Carpenters make buildings, Carpenter Extenders create extensions for buildings. This is a different profession, because while Carpenters focus on learning how to build and construct a building, Carpenter Extenders focus on how to add on to these structures. Some extensions serve a useful purpose, while others can be made just so the people who buy them have a better house. CARPENTER EXTENDER'S WARES 1. Construction Room: Time Required: 4 days ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Prof. Lvl Required: 2 ~ Build Cost: 15 The Construction Room is just like the ones that come with Normal - Large Buildings; they are places where products can be made. Normally, a person must concentrate on making one item at a time. If an additional Construction Room is added on, however, two items can be made at once. Recommended selling price is 40 rupees. 2. Selling Room: Time Required: 5 days ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Prof. Lvl Required: 3 ~ Build Cost: 20 Selling Rooms are identical to the ones that come with Normal - Large Buildings. With an extra selling room and construction room, a person may practice two professions in the same building or allow another person to practice their profession in the same building. No other benefits are gained. Recommended selling price is 50 rupees. 3. Residential Room: Time Required: 3 days ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Prof. Lvl Required: 1 ~ Build Cost: 12 Residential Rooms can either be living rooms, kitchen/dining rooms, or bedrooms. There is no need for any of these in particular (other than bedrooms, which only hold two beds), but for some reason people may want them. Recommended selling price is 35 rupees. 4. Terrace: Time Required: 4 days ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Prof. Lvl Required: 2 ~ Build Cost: 15 Terraces are outdoor decks that give the buyer a wonderful view over the surroundings. Terraces are great places to hold parties. Comes with a few chairs and tables for the outdoors. Not much purpose besides having a better house. Recommended selling price is 40 rupees. 5. Spa: Time Required: 6 days ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Prof. Lvl Required: 4 ~ Build Cost: 25 The most expensive and time-consuming of all the extensions, but also the greatest sign of wealth for one who owns it. Spas are relaxing centers that sooth and refreshes a person. A Spa works like a potion and a fairy in one, as it will cure all wound, XS effects, and status effects. Recommended selling price is 65 rupees. 6. Special Extensions: Time Req.: Varies ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Prof. Lvl Req.: Varies ~ Build Cost: Varies Most every non-generic building can be extended and upgraded for better purposes. It's the Carpenter extender's job to make these additions. Many of the requirements vary from building to building, so look up the profession that requires an extension to find what is needed. WARES BENEFITS Each extension has very different purposes, so there is no common benefit amongst them. Read the descriptions above to find out which extensions do what. CARPENTER EXTENDER'S BUILDING Carpenter Extenders need a generic building to take orders from, much like an independant Carpentry business would. BECOMING A CARPENTER EXTENDER While Carpenters work best in groups, Carpenter Extenders actually work best alone on many projects. Since it takes less time and money to create, and less money is received in return, Carpenter Extenders need to work alone for most projects. However, some larger Special Extensions take lots of time and may require several Carpenter Extenders to get the job done quickly. Because of this, it's most effective to have a loose connection with other Carpenter Extenders in the area, and meet together when a large project comes up. Carpenters Extenders get the same group and level bonuses that Carpenters have. STONEBUILDER The Stonebuilder professions, like the Carpenter and Carpenter Extenders, build massive creations. Instead of using wood, however, stonebuilders use stones (obviously). The stones needed to build these structures can be found pretty much anywhere besides villages and towns. STONEBUILDER'S WARES 1. Stone-Integrated Building: Time Req.: 2 days ~ Materials Needed: Stone ~ Prof. Lvl Required: 1 ~ Build Cost: 8 More elegant, stronger buildings are those made of stone. Stone-integrated buildings mix the normal carpenter's wood with stone to allow for more durability. Stone structures can easily withstand tornadoes and hurricanes, as well as fire. The stonebuilder must integrate the stone during the construction phase of of the building (it cannot be added on). This addition of stone should cost around 35 rupees. 2. Wall Reconstruction: Time Required: 10 days ~ Materials Needed: Stone ~ Prof. Lvl Req.: 2 ~ Build Cost: 30 When a wall is destroyed, the government will often call apon Stonebuilders to rebuild them. Since walls need to be brought back up quickly, usually many Stonebuilders are recruited. While cheap to build, wall rebuilding should sell for around 200 rupees. 3. Wall Building: Time Required: 20 days ~ Materials Needed: Stone ~ Profession Lvl Required: 3 ~ Build Cost: 50 New walls can make a race's territory more secure, so this is a popular item for governments to buy from Stonebuilders. Many Stonebuilders are needed for this project, and it takes a very long time to complete. However, the normal selling price is an nice 500 rupees. 4. Stone Weight Set: Time Required: 2 days ~ Materials Needed: Stone ~ Profession Lvl Req.: 3 ~ Build Cost: 6 Stone Weight Sets are used by characters to increase stength. If a character spends 5 minutes of online time every day lifting these weights, they will gain +1 AS. They must lift for five days before getting this bonus. After 16 days, another +1 bonus is gained. They must continue to lift afterward to maintain it. See the XS Guide for details. Recommended selling price is 30 rupees 5. Monument: Time Required: 15 days ~ Materials Needed: Stone ~ Profession Lvl Req.: 4 ~ Build Cost: 35 Monuments are great statues or similar objects displayed in public areas to bring patriotism and pride to the race. Monuments are great works and are good reasons for tourists to come. Monuments takes great skill and care, and therefore sell for around 700 rupees. 6. Landmarks: Time Required: 30 days ~ Materials Needed: Stone ~ Profession Lvl Req.: 5 ~ Build Cost: 150 Landmarks are incredible, woundrous creations that are made by one the best and brightest of all the Stonebuilders ever to inhabit Termina. Landmarks are creations like the Clock Tower, the Astral Observatory, or a small Temple. Needless to say, these massive undertakings take a long time and a lot of money to complete, but the respect and awe gained from them is unparralled. The selling price of a Landmark can be as much as 2,500 rupees. WARES BENEFITS Each Stonebuilder item either has no benefit or it is listed in the descriptions above. STONEBUILDER'S BUILDINGS Stonebuilders need a generic building where they can take orders. To make stone weights, they need a construction room with that building. BECOMING A STONEBUILDER Stonebuilders sometimes work better alone and sometimes work better in groups. It all depends on the project, and how long it takes and how much you make. You may want to keep a close relationship to other stonebuilders in the area for group projects. The government is a big buyer for many of the Stonebuilder's wares, and sometimes they will generously pay the Build Cost as well. Stonebuilder group and level bonuses are the exact same as the ones for Carpenters. SMITHY Smithies are widely practiced professions that most characters buy weapons from. Smithies make swords, and since every race but the Ikanans can use swords, it is a good business for most races. As Smithies advance levels, they must learn how to create their new items from a higher level Smithy or from books at the Library. Smithies can only learn how to make weapons for their race, unless they are taught by/visit the library of a different race. SMITHY'S WARES 1. Terminian Sword: Race: Terminian ~ Construction Time: 1 day ~ Materials Needed: None ~ Prof. Lvl Required: 1 Build Cost: 5 rupees ~ Recommended Selling Price: 25 rupees 2. Razor Sword: Race: Terminian ~ Construction Time: 2 days ~ Materials Needed: Field Metals ~ Profession Level Required: 2 ~ Build Cost: 15 rupees ~ Recommended Selling Price: 45 rupees 3. Gilded Sword: Race: Terminian ~ Construction Time: 4 days ~ Materials Needed: Gold Dust Profession Lvl Required: 3 ~ Build Cost: 25 rupees ~ Recommended Selling Price: 70 rupees 4. Swamp Blade: Race: Deku ~ Construction Time: 1 day ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Profession Level Required: 1 Build Cost: 4 rupees ~ Recommended Selling Price: 20 rupees 5. Woodfall Blade: Race: Deku ~ Construction Time: 2 days ~ Materials Needed: Woodfall Cattails Profession Level Required: 2 ~ Build Cost: 8 rupees ~ Recommended Selling Price: 30 rupees 6. Snow Saber: Race: Goron ~ Construction Time: 1 day ~ Materials Needed: None ~ Profession Level Required: 1 Build Cost: 6 rupees ~ Recommended Selling Price: 24 rupees 7. Sword of Snowhead: Race: Goron ~ Construction Time: 3 days ~ Materials Needed: Hot Spring Water Profession Level Required: 2 ~ Build Cost: 12 rupees ~ Recommended Selling Price: 40 rupees 8. Coral Sword: Race: Zora ~ Construction Time: 1 day ~ Materials Needed: Coral ~ Profession Level Required: 1 Build Cost: 5 rupees ~ Recommended Selling Price: 22 rupees 9. Excalibur of the Bay: Race: Zora ~ Construction Time: 2 days ~ Materials Needed: Field Metals, Seashell (Powder) ~ Profession Lvl Required: 2 ~ Build Cost: 10 rupees ~ Recommended Selling Price: 35 rupees 10. Pirate's Sword: Race: Gerudo ~ Construction Time: 1 days ~ Materials Needed: None ~ Profession Level Required: 2 ~ Build Cost: 10 ~ Recommended Selling Price: 45 rupees 11. Large Swords: Characters who have the Stength skill can use stronger swords. The details of the benfits are given on the Swords page, but to construct them, it takes 1.5 times the cost,1.5 times the time, and +2 Profession Level. Adjust your selling price accordingly. 12. Specially Designed Handles/Inscriptions: Specially designed handles or inscriptions on the blade of the sword make it more of a personal object for the owner. The higher the Smithy's skill level, the better the design will look. It takes 12 extra hours to make these designs, or more if it is avery high quality. Designs cost nothing to make, but add about 10-20 rupees to the cost of the sword. The only benefit is prestige and individualius. These can be added onto swords, but the price is then doubled, it takes 1 day to make, and costs 5 rupees to make new parts.. WARES BENEFITS The benefits of these swords and large weapons are described in the Swords and Weapons pages. SMITHY'S BUILDINGS A Smithy requires special buildings to be made for their practice. These buildings are just like the generic buildings, except that instead of a construction room, a Forge is put it. The Forge requires an extra day's work to put it and +5 rupees to the total Build Cost. All extensions are the same as generic buildings. BECOMING A SMITHY Smithy's have a lot of customers, as swords are popular items among many races, especially the Terminians. However, after somebody buys a sword, they don't need a new one. Smithy's rely on newcomers and upgrade to better swords for their income. Smithy's don't have any other items to make, so they need to focus on making swords quickly. For every level that a Smithy is above the required level, it takes 12 less hours to complete the sword (minimum of 6 hours). BOWYER Another very important constructor, the Bowyer makes a variety of different Bows as well as things to go along with Bows. Bows are popular because they have high AS and are very effective in Battle. When Bowyers attain a higher level and are able to learn how to make new weapons, they must either be taught by a Bowyer that knows how to make that weapon or go to the library. To learn how to create bows of other races, the Bowyer must be taught by a Bowyer that can make them of another race or visit a different race's library. Some special bows cause status effects to form, making them very harmful to opponents. BOWYER'S WARES 1. Short Bow: Race: Humans ~ Construction Time: 18 hours ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Profession Lvl Required: 1 Build Cost: 4 rupees ~ Recommended Selling Price: 20 rupees 2. Long Bow: Race: Humans ~ Construction Time: 30 hours ~ Materials Needed: Wood ~ Profession Lvl Required: 2 Build Cost: 8 rupees ~ Recommended Selling Price: 35 rupees 3. Bows are particularly popular purchases from the government, as bows are the best weapon to use for defense. Bowyers get constant customers because arrows must be bought to use Bows. It's best to sell arrows in bulk, as individual arrows are very cheap. For every level a Boweyer goes up, it takes 8 less hours to complete a Bow (min. 6 hours), 5 less minutes for arrows (min. 5minutes), and 1 hour for quivers. |
