| Welcome to The House of Bones |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This is my house (virtually speaking) and I am Bones. My dearly departed Grandfather, who is singing with the angels in Heaven, gave me that name many, many years ago. Those closest to my heart, all of whom have sadly gone on to their eternal reward, knew me as Bones. I use that name for this site in their memory. Herein you will find some of the rantings and ravings and ramblings of an archaic, backward, intransigent, rather morbid at times Roman Catholic, monarchist, horror fan, believer in the lost values of traditional authority, the mystical, the sacred, the divine, the extreme, the outcast and sometimes the downright creepy. Hopefully some things will be appreciated by others, but be forewarned, I am not putting these pages together to please anyone but myself. This is a creative outlet and whether or not I please or offend is of the utmost indifference to myself. My only hope is that it might prove theraputic. That being said, for those who share some of my odd tastes you might find some interesting reading, some insightful observations and other such items you might well appreciate. However, if you are a modernistic, humanistic, progressive, liberal type with a Whig vision of history you will most likely be greatly offended by almost everything I have to say. In that case......oh well! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| A Little About Bones I am a product of what I call Hispanglo culture. My first language is English and I come from a mostly Anglo family but live in an area very much part of the historic Hispanic culture -in fact the ground on which I stand was Spanish soil for several hundred years. I am a product of 1980's America and grew up watching shows like "The A-Team". Of course, my favorite cartoon as a child (or even today) was Scoobie Doo. I was a big fan of the Ghostbusters and the first live-action movie I ever saw was "Return to Oz" with little Fairuza Balk (which might explain a lifelong fascination with fear, ruins, monarchy and monsters). I have been a lifelong fan of horror movies, though good one have become harder to find as time rolls on. Even as a little tot in grade school my teachers had to limit the number of monster books I could check out from the library because, while everyone else was fighting over the latest "Frog & Toad" book all I wanted to read about was Frankenstein, Count Dracula, King Kong and so on. My favorite superhero was the rather disturbed Batman though my favorite character was the stylish, genteel Penguin. But, enough of all that pop culture stuff... Politically, I guess most would call me a conservative (shocking as some may find that) though really a more correct term would be reactionary. Politicians in business suits, backdoor deals, rampant hypocrisy and the charade of popular government holds no romance for me (though forcing the senators to wear togas would be a step in the right direction). I much prefer crowned heads, ermine robes, bowing and scraping courtiers and knights prepared to charge to their death for the honor of their prince. I want less sleaze and more panache. I had to cheer a little when the immortal Claude Rains, in the classic "Juarez" as Emperor Napoleon III dismissed democracy as, "government of the cattle, by the cattle, for the cattle". I am not against any and all forms of the republic but I prefer republics like the Roman Empire or those with strong aristocracies. For all of our so-called freedoms of today I find the modern world soul-crushingly dull and uniform. Religiously I am a staunch (if not always devout) Roman Catholic and there is nothing else I could possibly be. The Catholic Church is the greatest thing in but not of the world in my opinion and the heart and soul of it, and thus true Christianity, is the Most Blessed Sacrament; the Eucharist. Sing all the nice songs you like, resist all the vices you like, do all the good deeds you like the thing Christ said we must do to live forever is to eat His flesh and drink His blood. Nothing could ever bring us closer to God than that. The Catholic Church alone has the prestige of being the original Christian Church (some contest that but none can be proven to pre-date it) and it alone has maintained the roots and the purity of the Christian faith, particularly the sacrificial nature of it. Judaism was a religion of blood sacrifice, but, as the saying went, all the blood of all the beasts poured out on the altars of Israel could not take away the guilt of mankind and so the perfect sacrifice, God the Son in the flesh, had to be sacrificed to gain salvation for humanity. Most of that is considered repulsive to Protestants, but that's fair as I find them fairly repulsive on the whole myself. Enemies of the Catholic Church will not be able to get very far with me because I glory in the worst they can throw at me. They say, "Catholics believe you have to actually eat the body of Christ and actually drink the blood of Christ to be saved, they kneel before statues and they pray to dead people!" I tend to leave them at a loss for words when I say, "yep, and I wouldn't have it any other way". |

| "If the madness and corruption of mankind continue to threaten the divine spirit in man's heart, to shed blood and to prevent all moral progress, then the Asian state must put an end to this destructive process and establish a sure and lasting peace" -Baron Roman von Ungern-Sternberg | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| In many ways the modern world around us resembles a world under mass hypnosis. The more people championed the cause that we should embrace our differences the less different we became until today we are in the grip of dull, global mono-culture where we all have similar governments, similar ideas, even wear the same clothes, eat the same foods and are entertained by the same movies. We are also, like people in a stupor, oh so very sensitive to the least little discomfort in mind or body. Sure, we will have abortions that end millions of lives, but only to erase an uncomfortable "mistake" and even then we don't want to call it what it is and we certainly don't want to actually see the results with our own eyes. That would make us too uncomfortable. If someone murders a person we make a law against people having guns because it makes us uncomfortable to execute the murderer. So, we effectively make laws against breaking the law in the futile hope that we won't have to deal with violent criminals. We even fight wars in which we expect no one to get hurt or be killed. I am sorry precious darlings but the real world just does not work that way. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| In keeping with the ecumenical values of the Second Vatican Council this website salutes the devout Buddhist and pan-monarchist Russian general Baron Roman von Ungern-Sternberg who wished to see the Mongol Khan, the Qing Emperor and the Romanovs of Russia all restored to their imperial thrones and who was martyred by the godless communists of the Soviet Red Army. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
