Our dojo is founded upon the priciples of traditional Okinawan martial arts. We have, and continue to, study the origin, progression, and application of Okinawan Karate & Kobudo (weapons). We have wholeheartedly indulged ourselves with the task of effectively, and accurately, educating those who wish to learn.
We live, practice, and teach in Crisfield, on Maryland's beautiful Eastern Shore. We welcome everyone to come train with us and enjoy the tranquil settings of the Chesapeake Bay.
The style we teach is Isshin-ryu Karate, although we practice and research other styles of Okinawan Karate & Kobudo as well. As students of the art we are involved in a constant search for knowledge and truth. Our source of knowledge and truth was found in Sensei A.J. Advincula. He was a student of Master Tatsuo Shimabuku, the founder of Isshin-ryu Karate.
The lessons he has taught us we continue to practice, and all that he shares we look forward to passing on to our students. We expect our students to be open to the ideas we present. Our style of teaching revolves around the understanding of tradition and symbolism, the awareness of self and surroundings, and the application of techinques. Respect for the unknown, the willingness to face challenges, and the determination to succeed are qualities we strive to
instill in all of our students. All of this can be acquired through
serious training in the martial arts.
