During February and March of 2003, I began to realize that my career goals no longer matched the job I was doing and that it was time to leave. I turned in my resignation, with my last day being June 26th. I had some work lined up for July, but found myself entirely freed up for August.

So why not go to Sturgis?

Glancing at a few calendars, I realized I could probably do it! And not only that, but take my time doing so, with very little urging me back home before September began. I did not, however, sit down and meticulously plan out my Sturgis trip, trusting instead to providence, meager prior experience, and my best judgement as time passed.

And so, with Roxie readied and packed, I set out.
