Seven kids at summer camp each find strange digital devices after almost getting killed by their appearance.  They are then sucked through a vortex to the digital world where they each meet their own personal protectors digimon, digital monsters.  Remember though that they are not just digital monsters but are also kinda cute, very loyal, with beautiful hair, or maybe no hair at all, they can be funny and adorable (no names mentioned ...Tokomon).  The group are attacked by Koagamon (big nasty red bug thing), and are only saved when their digimon digivolve into bigger and better and more adorable digimon (again no names ... Patamon).  The group begin to wonder around the digital world encountering many strange things like phone booths which don't work and a cable car on an island in the middle of a lake!  They also have some nasty evil type digimon to battle for the good of the digiworld, or at the time to save their lives.  To do this their digimon digivolve into even bigger and better digimon.  It quickly become apparent that the evil nasty types don't appear to be evil or nasty once strange black gears are knocked out of them.  It appears that the gears are making them evil.  The kids (and digimon) investigate and come up against Leomon + black gear = bad news.  Eventually they knock out the black gear out of Leomon who tells the tail of the digidestined who are the kids.  They find out that Devimon is responsible for the black gears.  They go to face him, and win.  They hoped that they would be sent home after doing this, but their adventures where only just beginning.
