Tai is the leader of the digidestined; his Digimon was the first to digivolve and was the first to receive his crest.  Tai is very adventurous and enthusiastic; it sometimes gets him into trouble.  He has an aggressive personality that throws him into the path of danger.  Deep down he is very caring especially for his little sister Kari and Sora, he comes across as being a bit of a hot head but always strives to do what is right.  He and Matt don’t always see eye to eye and often get into fights, I guess this is just a clash of personalities, but Tai will never be beaten or walked away from.

Yamagi means "Eight Gods," and Taichi means "Thick" and the number "One."

Matt is seen as the cool one of the group, he is a born rebel and will not get bossed around by anyone never mind Tai.  Matt, like Tai, is seen as a kind of hot head and tries to hide his caring side.  Tk is Matt’s little brother, who Matt cares deeply about and can be described as being a little over protective of his little brother.  Matt and Tk’s parents are divorced and the brothers where separated, which leads Matt to think he wasn’t wanted by his family.  Matt believes that his job is to look after Tk, but when Tk learns to be independent this causes Matt to question himself and his life.  Matt’s crest is friendship, he himself is not sure why because it is not until the end of the adventure that he truly learns the meaning of the word.

Sora is the responsible female of the group, although she and Tai are good friends she is not sure that he can handle some situations.  Sora is seen as the voice of reason and is responsible for breaking up most of the fights between Tai and Matt.  The two youngest members of the group Kari and Tk admire her, and she is seen as a mother figure.  Sora and her mother did not get along very well, mainly because she is a tomboy and loves soccer and her mother wanted her to work in the family flower shop, because of this Sora was convinced that she had no love in her life, but thanks to Biyomon, learns otherwise.

Izzy is the genius of the group, the ultimate computer wiz!  Due to this the others look upon him for answers and theories.  Although Izzy is clever sometimes he does not see the danger around him, he is too preoccupied with explaining the digiworld.  Izzy buried himself in his computer because he found out he was adopted and tried to hide it from his mind, but after his adopted parents explained the truth Izzy seems content with who he is.  Izzy seems to be a friend to everyone and does not take side in fights or discussions but is always there to give answers.  His crest of knowledge suits him very well.

Izumi means "A Spring," and Koushiro means "Light Child."

Joe is a pessimist and hypochondriac, his hobby is worrying about the past and present!  Joes crest suits him well and although he is a worrier he is a good friend and nearly always right. Joe wants to become a doctor when he grows up, or at least his father wants him to be.  He loves to study, so much so that he misses out on some of the adventures in the real world!

Kido means "Castle Door," and Jyou means "Stature."

Mimi throughout the adventure appears to be very selfish, a typical ‘daddy’s little princess’, but deep down she has a loving and caring personality.  She is completely out of place in the digiworld as all she does is complain, throughout she keeps claiming that she wished she had went to cheerleading camp!! Sora and Mimi are completely different but still find friendship in the adventure.  Mimi’s crest suits her as Tai explains ‘sure Mimi is sort of a ditz but she’s really sincere and a good friend.’  There ya go, who can complain with that?

Tk is by far the cutest member of the group.  Tk and Kari are around the same age, but Tk acts a little bit more childish.  At the start he was not very brave and cried at any opportunity, but throughout the adventures in the digiworld he has become a lot stronger.  Matt is Tk’s big brother; Tk is always trying to show Matt how brave he is.  Tk looks up to Tai a lot, which makes Matt a bit jealous, but deep down Tk and Matt have a good relationship.  Tk is very caring about the others; he looks upon Sora as a mother type, and feels happier when she’s around.  He can be described as being sweet and innocent and always tries to do what is right.

Kari is Tai’s younger sister, being young she is by far one of the strongest members of the group.  Kari is discovered as the eighth child in episode 32, she was unable to go to the digiworld at the beginning because of her re-occurring illness.  She looks up to her big brother Tai and hopes to be as strong as him one day.
