Okay, here's the page most people will probably be interested in, games. That said, I have some ground-rules when it comes to games on this site, because I don't wan to incur the wrath of the corporations and their legal departments.

First off, if you came here expecting me to have a lot of "AAA" titles, you're wrong. There's other places for that such as Good Old Games (GOG) where you can legally purchase and/or legally download those titles. Honestly, what you choose to do to find a copy of Kings Quest or Ultima VI or any other protected major title like The Secret of Monkey Island is up to you, I bear no responsibility for it.

Most of the stuff here is freeware, shareware, and "shovelware" like you'd find from Bulletin Boards Systems (BBSes) back in the day, and a lot of this stuff is rare, hard to find, some of it took me hours of digging the now defunct textfiles.com website's BBS mirrors over the last 20 years. Some of it is even just old shareware/shovelware I snagged off my sister's old 386 as a pre-teen. So look around, you might find something cool and obscure therein this page.
LINK TITLE DESCRIPTION
Debris Windows 3.1x (or better) Space shooter game in the vein of Asteroids. 8-bit Guy really reccommends this one on his channel.
Shanghai Windows 3.1x Mahjong Game, pretty darned good.
Shanghai Windows 3.1x Mahjong Game, pretty darned good.
TDK Pinball Simple Windows 3.1x Pinball game by the maker of Cassette Tapes
Yachtzee Windows 3.1x version of the classic dice game
AlleyCat DOS Game where you play as an alley cat climbing into windows and avoiding obstacles. Old IBM Release. Works on any PC.
Apple Panic! Old BASIC game known as "Apple Panic" - sort of a weirdo Defender clone.
Artillery Old BASIC game, Artilery, similar to Tank Wars or Scorched Earth, but runs on an 8088.
CHAMP Asterock Asteroids for DOS. Very faithful Arcade Port (CHAMP Games was well known in the early 1990's for their faithful MS-DOS Arcade ports). Requires a 386SX or better, and has support for SoundBlaster and a GamePad/Joystick if you like.
BlockOut 3D Tetris Game, EGA, 286, Internal Speaker Sound. Has really cool digitized music on the title screen. One of my favorites for older 286 and 386 machines.
Burger Blaster Weird old "Shoot The Hamberger Together" from the top of the screen game. CGA, 8088, 128K+ RAM. Kind of like BurgerTime meets Space Invaders.
Car & Driver One of my favorite old Driving Simulators for DOS. Basically an early VGA 3-D Driving Simulator based on the Magazine of the same name. 386SX+, 4MB RAM, 8MB HDD Space, VGA, supports Roland MPU401, SoundBlaster, and Internal Speaker.
CHAMP Centiped'Em' Centipede for DOS. Very faithful Arcade Port (CHAMP Games was well known in the early 1990's for their faithful MS-DOS Arcade ports). Requires a 386SX or better, and has support for SoundBlaster and a GamePad/Joystick if you like.
CHAMP Pac-Em' Pac-Man for DOS. Very faithful Arcade Port (CHAMP Games was well known in the early 1990's for their faithful MS-DOS Arcade ports). Requires a 386SX or better, and has support for SoundBlaster and a GamePad/Joystick if you like.

DepthCharge A BASIC Game authored in 1984 by Henry J. Kottler. This is the one I often jokinly refer to as "WordPerfect Wars" because it looks like if the ASCII Characters in WordPerfect 5.1 decided to have a submarine battle, LOL. Works on pretty much any x86 IBM Compatible with 64K or more RAM running DOS/BASIC.
Dinosaur Old 8088-era Dinosaur game for DOS. 8088, 128K, 360K Disk Space, CGA.
Dr. Mario An old EGA Clone of Dr. Mario. Does not work with some VGA Graphics Cards. Not an official Nintendo Product, just something someone cobbled together in their free time it looks like. Not sure who made it.
Duck Hunt Windows 3.1 Duck Shooting Game, using the mouse (not a Zapper). Not the same as Nintendo's game. Looks to be an old piece of Shareware or Shovelware. Requires 386SX+, 4MB RAM, Windows 3.1 or higher, and Sound if you want sound. Also may require a Runtime Library or two.
Elf Land Old DOS Side Scroller Shareware game that looks a lot like the old "Adventures of Dizzy" games by design. EGA, requires a 286 or better and EGA or better. Internal Speaker Sound.
Family Feud (Sharedata) One of the old Sharedata Game Show games for DOS. Requires an 8088, 256K RAM, and CGA Video to work. This particular download has a messed up savegame file so it looks to have been passed around the internet and BBSes beforehand for awhile.
The Ford Simulator Ford Motor Company put out a series of advertising DOS Games back in the 1980's and early 1990's. This installment from 1987 has a "test drive" simulator that allows you to test drive some landmark models like the Taurus, Tempo, Aerostar, F-series, Mustang, and Bronco II. It also includes a text-mode "Showroom" that allows you to pick from Ford's entire 1987-1988 lineup and spec out your car, and see what the price is (and Financing options IIRC). 8088, CGA/Hercules, 256K RAM Required, internal speaker sound.
The Ford Simulator 2 Ford Motor Company put out a series of advertising DOS Games back in the 1980's and early 1990's. In this installment from 1988, they left us testing just one vehicle, have several "promocational" bits about things like Anti-Lock Brakes and power steering, and how it works, and of course, the showroom is back with more of Ford's "fine family" of automobiles to spec, pick from, and see how much it's going to set you back.
The Ford Simulator 3 Ford Motor Company put out a series of advertising DOS Games back in the 1980's and early 1990's. This 1991 outing changes the formula for the next 2-3 installments. Now the showroom is the default, with photographs of Ford's new 1991 lineup including the Taurus, Bronco, F-150, Explorer, Ranger, Fiesta, Tempo, Thunderbird, and of course the Mustang. A limited range of these vehicles can be picked from for a "Outrun Style" drive to Lake Wakasomething complete with rest stops, semis, and cops pulling you over for speeding, LOL. Of course you can also pick and spec your Ford vehicle of choice for that year and see all the specifics as usual. 286+, VGA, Internal Speaker Sound
The Ford Simulator 5 Ford Motor Company put out a series of advertising DOS Games back in the 1980's and early 1990's. This 1994 outing is similar to Simulator 3, just with some changes (I've not been able to find Ford Simulator 4, did they ever make one?). Same deal, pick and spec your Ford Vehicle complete with a photograph of the landmark version of that model (etc. the usual stuff: T-birds, Mustangs, Explorers, F-series trucks, and so on). Same Outrun style simulator with the cops and semis again. 386SX+, VGA, Internal Speaker Sound.
Funnels & Buckets Old math game where you solve math problems for high score. Text Mode, works on any DOS PC pretty much, even an original IBM PC 1st edition with 64K RAM will work. Funny side note, I had a friend who - like me - is a little dyslexic...oh the hilarity (give up - Bunnels and F***ets).
CHAMP Galagon Galaga for DOS. Very faithful Arcade Port (CHAMP Games was well known in the early 1990's for their faithful MS-DOS Arcade ports). Requires a 386SX or better, and has support for SoundBlaster and a GamePad/Joystick if you like.
CHAMP Galaxia Galaxian for DOS. Very faithful Arcade Port (CHAMP Games was well known in the early 1990's for their faithful MS-DOS Arcade ports). Requires a 386SX or better, and has support for SoundBlaster and a GamePad/Joystick if you like.
Indenture 8088 CGA/EGA Compatible port of the Warren Robinette classic Adventure for the Atari 2600 VCS for DOS. Created by Craig Pell in the early 1990's. Features 2 more levels, 2 more dragons, and more options than the original.
CHAMP Invaders Space Invaders for DOS. Very faithful Arcade Port (CHAMP Games was well known in the early 1990's for their faithful MS-DOS Arcade ports). Requires a 386SX or better, and has support for SoundBlaster and a GamePad/Joystick if you like.
Jeopardy (Sharedata) Sharedata's rendition of the classic reverse A/Q gameshow as hosted by the late Alex Trebec. 8088+, 256K or more RAM, CGA.
Broderbund's Jetfight Flight Simulator by Broderbund, possibly a very early release as I got this from an old bandmate whose now a pilot in the airforce and I have his old copy in the original sleeve Broderbund sent it to him in. Pretty cool little flight sim. Requires a 286+, 287 helps, 1MB of RAM reccommended, EGA required. Internal Speaker sound only.
Klondike 22 Old Text Mode Klondike game for DOS. 8088, 128K+ RAM, Monochrome (Color reccommended). This came off my sister's old 386. I think it was a piece of shareware at the time.
CHAMP Kong Donkey Kong for DOS. Very faithful Arcade Port (CHAMP Games was well known in the early 1990's for their faithful MS-DOS Arcade ports). Requires a 386SX or better, and has support for SoundBlaster and a GamePad/Joystick if you like.
Lawn Mower Simulator Christopher D. Orr's Text Mode Business & Landscaping company simulation program where you are a lawn mower, mowing people's lawns, and running your own business. Most of the game is running around ASCII rendered maps of people's lawns including obstacles like gophers, dogs, swimming pools, trees, bushes, rocks - and having to return to the shed to replace your blades periodically. 8088, DOS, 256K RAM, Monochrome works, but Color reccommended.
Mario Bros. (ASCII) Very early ASCII Arcade Port of Mario Bros. for DOS. 8088, 64K RAM, internal speaker sound, uses 80x25 column text mode. Not a bad little port once you get used to the controls.
MAXIT! (DOS) Old DOS Game where 2 players go head to head grabbing positive and negative numbers from a table for high score. The one who gets the highest score wins. 8088, 128K RAM, CGA.
MAXIT! (RAR) Old BASIC Game where 2 players go head to head grabbing positive and negative numbers from a table for high score. The one who gets the highest score wins. 8088, 128K RAM, CGA. - This is the version I used to play. Requires BASIC.
MegaMania DOS port of the Atari 2600 game of the same name. Requires VGA or SVGA, 386+, and has SoundBlaster sound support. Really nice port, kind of surprising how good it is actually.
MicroLink Yahtzee Probably my personal favorite port of Yahtzee for the PC Ever. Play against up to 10 different people or the computer in a single row game of Yahtzee. 8088, Color/Monochrome, Internal Speaker Sound, DOS.
Muppet Adventure Goofey old Muppets PC game for DOS from the early-mid 1980's. Basically the Muppets go to a Carnival and have to find Miss Piggy who has been run off with. Includes various minigames in CGA with Gonzo, Kermit, Rowlf, Fozzie, I think Pigs in Space. 8088, 256K, CGA, internal Speaker Sound.
Mushroom Mania Strange old CGA DOS version of Centipede. Surprisingly Fun though. 8088, CGA, 256K.
NYET (Tetris) Old ASCII Tetris Clone for DOS. 8088, Mono, Internal Speaker, color graphics gives color text mode (80x25). Was told this was the Alexi Pajitnov original at first, but it's not.
Paratrooper I'm sure if you've watched any one of numerous classic PC gaming channels, particularly LGR's, you've probably seen this one. Basically shooting a rotating cannon at the middle o the screen at paratroopers that are falling from the sky. CGA, 8088, 128K RAM.
Pitfall Not the same game as the David Crane Atari 2600 game. This is a mono, text mode DOS game released in 1984 that is basically you steering someone falling down some kind of well. Found on an old 160K Diskette given to me in a pile back in 2001. 8088, MDA, 64K.
QuBert ASCII clone of the arcade game Q*Bert, released sometime in the early-mid 1980's. Not a bad little port, I remember playing this on Creeping Net 1 a lot in the early days between internet rounds and Monkey Island.
RockStar! Strategy/Simulation game where you create a rockstar and a band, and follow-through with your career as an artist. Includes all the usual trope mayhem of rock' n' roll including drugs, sex, retreats to forein countries, and death. Also includes creating albums, working with management, dealing with money, and other stuff. Surprisingly deep for something that runs on an 8088 with 256K RAM in 80x25 column text mode in color (color Required for the best effect).
Scorched Earth The best known of the "vector" games. In Scorched Earth, you, and up to nine other players, pick various cannons to put on a hill, and then shoot at each other with various weaponry until the last person standing wins. It's cousin is Kenneth B. Morse's "Tank Wars". This one has hilarious taunts coming from the other players. 386+, VGA, internal speaker sound.
Super Mario Aka. Mario & Luigi, or "Mario.exe". This is a game created by Mike Wiering of Wiering Software as a proof of concept for his own platformer series of games, and was released for free. Since then, several nameless pirates on the internet have done everything with this one from try to capitalize on it to release it in altered form - hence why having several names. Oddly Mario & Luigi is a misnomer because there is NO Luigi in this game. Otherwise, a pretty darn good port. 386+, 4MB RAM+, 1MB HDD Space, VGA, Internal Speaker Sound.
Street Rod Old Driving Simulator game for DOS. In this game you can purchase used classic cars from the news paper, purchase them, and parts to upgrade/hot-rod them, and then take your Street Rod out, gas er' up, and then do drag races for kicks, pink slips, or money. The goal is to beat the big street rodder (and get good enough for him to race you). Has many classic cars like the Ford Fairlane, Ford THunderbird, Chevrolet Corvette, Oldsmobile Rocket 88, and many others (yeah, I'm a car guy, in case you have not figured it out yet - dominantly Ford). 286+, EGA, Internal Speaker, 1MB RAM or more reccommended.
Street Rod II Old Driving Simulator game for DOS. 286+, EGA, Adlib Support, 2MB RAM or more reccommended.
Street Fighting Man Hilarious old fighting game for DOS. Basically you play some tough guy named "Nick" (probably the last name I'd think of for a "tough guy"). Nick's girlfriend has been "Nicked" by one of the many local street gangs, which include a bunch of blonde bimbos that fight nobody, a bunch of balding middle-aged drunks, a 70's African American pimp stereotype, and bikers. EGA, 286+, Intenal Speaker Sound, also works with Tandy 3-Voice.
Tank Wars Like Scorched Earth but with a lower memory requirement (and easier on the eyes). Kenneth B. Morse programmed this on his IBM PS/2 sometime in the late 80's/early 90's, and it's injected with a lot more humor than Scorched Earth even though it lacks the taunts, such as a class of computer player known as "Mr. Stupid", strange color pallet shifting backgrounds, and of course, the most hilarious audio effects in a DOS Game ever to be squawked fourth from a Programmable Interrupt Timer chip - mostly due to the overtly dramatic death sequences (most of which sound like R2-D2 going through a car wash where the brushes were replaced with hammers). DOS, VGA, 286+, internal Speaker Sound. One of my personal favorites.
UNO Old Text Mode Uno game for DOS. 8088, 256K+, Mono/Color Text Mode
Wacky Wheels The best DOS Port from the whole "Kart" craze of the early 90's is Apogee Software's Shareware classic - Wacky Wheels. It blows the tires off of Skunny Kart. Play as various animals (such as the pelican with the 360 degree neck) on various tracks filled with hedgehogs on the toilet reading newspapers...yes, I'm not kidding. 386+, SoundBlaster, VGA. Runs best on a 486DX-33 w/ 8MB and SoundBlaster or better.
Wheel Of Fortune (Sharedata) Sharedata Game Show Game. Play 3 rounds of guess the letters and solve the puzzle, then play a final round and win a price. Huge high scores list on this one (but not busted like Family Feud from decades of passing around BBS/internet). 8088, CGA, 128K+ RAM.
ZZT ZZT is an old "build your own game" sort of deal, kind of like an ancestor to Minecraft methinks. 8088, text mode, color. I have not explored this one much yet.
Lego Digital Designer Probably one of the newest games on this list, Lego Digital Designer is more of a application than a game, but it's fun to play with Legos on it. It's since been depreciated, but I am offering it up here because some people with a Pentium 4 or better might want to install this and play it. I may start providing newer software. Pentium 4+, 128MB, 3D Accel Video, Windows 2000 Pro or better, needs 500MB Disk Space.
Monopoly Deluxe Monopoly for Windows 3.1. The classic real-estate board game, for Windows.
