| Treasurer's Report Marsha Jette reported a balance of $4,317.32 and handed out copies of the Treasurer's Report. She hightlighted 100% membership; income was less than expenses; dues are 3 mils; and the $100 annual meeting deposit will be put back into the treasury. Ross Eddy moved to accept the Treasurer's Report. Diane Holowaty seconded and the motion carried. Committee Reports Awards & Scholarships - No Report Benefits - Dawn Pindell handed out a summary of information prepared by Brenda Palmer from the NASCOE website. The cell phone discount program was discussed. Emblems - Ann McCard provided a summary of items available from www.thenascoestore.com and encouraged people to look at the handouts and go online to order. She shared information from Debbie Shaw regarding new products and colors available. Legislative - Sandy Ford reported that this is a good time to reach out to Congressmen. She noted key points of a handout "Set Some Personal Action Goals for 2007 & 2008" and highlighted use of CAPWIZ from home computers only. Sandy plans to be in the Legislative meeting at the National Convention in Myrtle Beach. Membership - Doris Ostrowski reported 100% membership with seventeen regular members and seven associate members: Bonnie Burr, Theresa Currier, Herb Bunnell, Frank Bouchard, Karen Tomlinson, Marilu Soileau and Teresa Peavey. She provided a handout of CRASCOE membership as of May 24, 2007. Publicity - Diane Holowaty reported that items are needed to produce a newsletter. Everyone was encouraged to submit articles, pictures, recipes, etc. Old Business No old business. New Business Elections - Pat Smith presented nominations to remain the same for President, Vice-President and Treasurer. She moved that the secretary cast one ballot. Ross Eddy seconded and the motion carried. Candidates for Secretary were Chris Rothe and Dawn Pindell. After discussion encouraging competition for offices in the future, Chris Rothe removed herself from the election. Marsha Jette moved that the secretary cast one ballot. The 2007/2008 CRASCOE elected officers effective July 1, 2007: President Doris Ostrowski Vice-President Melissa Turrisi Secretary Dawn Pindell Treasurer Marsha Jette CAPWIZ - Nancy Welsh, CAPWIZ Coordinator, as appointed by President Ostrowski, reported that CRASCOE currently has eight participants. She provided a hand out of information to sign up for CAPWIZ and highlighted the action alert e-mails and ability to present issues to representatives. Nancy noted that she had gotten a direct response from the office of Senator Lieberman. Participants were reminded to use their home computers for CAPWIZ activity. A discussion took place regarding the cost of CAPWIZ to NASCOE and the potential to renew the contract. Nancy Welsh moved that we renew our CAPWIZ contract at the national level for three years. Marsha Jette seconded and the motion passed. Keith Richmond will share this CRASCOE support with NASCOE. President Ostrowski encouraged everyone to sign-up for CAPWIZ. Previous page Next page |
