Pretty much all I did here was lay out a leather piece onto the lining and trace around it with a white quilter's pencil. I then put the leather piece onto the batting and cut it out without marking it, since nothing really works on black polyester batting. Stupid stuff. Anyway, after that was over with, I was much relieved, took a deep breath, and began the long, arduous task of sewing multiple layers of leather and batting and slick polyester that your sewing machine feet don't like... :(
