Doctors Orders

2 oz. Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
        12 oz. Dr. Pepper
a squeeze of a lime slice.
        Add some lemon juice.

Serve over ice garnished with a lime slice.

Strawberry Lemonade

1/2 cup lemon juice (from 3-4 fresh lemons)
           1/4 cup sugar
           2 cups water
           2 tablespoons Hersheys strawberry syrup

           1. Mix ingredients together in a pitcher. Serve over ice.
                           Makes 2 drinks.

Coffee-Vodka Liqueur

        2 cups water
        2 cups white sugar
        0.5 cup dry instant coffee
0.5 chopped vanilla bean (I use vanilla extract about 1 to 2 t.)
        1.5 cups vodka
        caramel coloring (optional)
Boil water and sugar until dissolved. Turn off heat. Slowly add dry
instant coffee and continue stirring. Add a chopped vanilla bean to
the vodka, then combine the cooled sugar syrup and coffee solution
        with the vodka.
Cover tightly and shake vigorously each day for 3 weeks.
        Strain and filter.
        Yield: about 4 cups
Its also best to let the sugar mixture cool completely so the vodka
won't evaporate when its added. I've never added the caramel
coloring. You really don't need it.
If you like a smoother feel to the liqueur you can add about 1
teaspoon of glycerine to the finished product.

plums in aging container. Pour sugar over plums, stir. Add vodka and
brandy stirring to partly disolve sugar. Cap container and place in a
cool, dark place for 2 months, stir occasionally.
Place a strainer over large bowl and strain liqueur. Press liquid
from plums with the back of a wooden spoon. Discard plum
pulp. Re-strain liqueur through cloth until clear. Bottle as desired.
Ready for drinking or cooking but best if aged another month.

Cherry Bomb

Take a jar of maraschino cheeries. Drain off the sickly red syrup.
Replace it with Clear Spring / Everclear / Any-other-grain / Bacardi
151 (for those without grain) / Vodka (for wimps). You will notice a
cloudiness as the alcohol strips some coloring from the cherries.
When the cloudiness is gone, it means the cherrieshave reabsorbed
the coloring, and incidentally a good bit of 90% EtOH. Pop
one in the mouth and chew. Also can be used to efficiently spike a
        drink.

Ocean Water

Any Sonic Drive-In regular knows the 3 or 4 unique fountain
drink favorites on the menu. There's the Limeade, the Diet
Limeade, and of course, the Cherry Limeade. But that bright blue
stuff called Ocean Water has become a recent favorite for
anyone who digs the taste of coconut -it's sort of like a pina colda
soda. The chain simply squirts a bit of blue coconut syrup into some
cold Sprite, and you're off. So the real secret to this puppy
is recreating that sugary, blue flavored syrup. That's the first
	step.

          3 tablespoons water
          2 tablespoons sugar
          1 teaspoon imitation coconut extract
          2 drops blue food coloring
2 12-ounce cans cold Sprite ice

          1. Combine the water and the sugar in a small bowl. Microwave
for 30-45 seconds, then stir to dissolve all of the
sugar. Allow this syrup to cool.
          2. Add coconut extract and food coloring to the cooled syrup.
             Stir well.
          3. Combine the syrup with two 12-ounce cans of cold Sprite.
             Divide and pour over ice.

Pia Colada

8 fluid ounces Pineapple juice (preferably, of course, pineapple
         chunks from a fresh pineapple)
8 fluid ounces Coconut cream (available canned under several brand
         names.

     6 ounces Rum
3 to 4 cups of Ice
     Cherries
Slices of pineapple, orange or lime
     Paper umbrellas (?)

In a blender, grind ice while gradually adding the pineapple, coconut
        cream and rum.
Alternatively, use shaved ice. The ice should be thick enough to hold a
        cherry on top
without sinking in. Serve in a tall glass with a straw. Garnish with
one cherry and a slice of fruit. Insert a paper umbrella
