Our Parks Will Be Adversely Affected
Since 1991, there has been significant public involvement in the 343 acre Bob Heirman Wildlfe Park and the 1400 acre Lord Hill Regional Park. The parks are adjacent to the Snohomish River and contain meadows, ponds, wetlands and wooded habitat in close proximity to the proposed KRKO towers. These parks were purchased and planned with the epxress intent of preserving and protecting the natural environment. Equally important is wildlife conservation. Over $3 million of County taxpayer money has been spent to purchase these 1700 acres and to prepare a master plan for future park development at the 2 parks. Additional County funds have been pledged to purchase additional adjacent land for these rural parks. Do you as a taxpayer want to see your investment threatened by a non conforming commercial enterprise?
