Hey! this is from a 1983 edition of the Sears Wishbook catalogue. The pictures of the toys are neat but this sure puzzled me. In the picture above (which is included in the catalogue as the description) They appear to be soft sculptures..does anyone know any information on the soft sculpture kids adopted from Sears and of their existance? This is what they are listed as...
"Adopt Your Own Lovable Cabbage Patch Kid tm. Each is one-of-a-kind, specially selected with loving care for you alone. And with each 'kid' adopted, you will receive a brief 'personality profile', 'birth certificate' with given name, complete 'adoption papers'. In addition, if you send back your 'kid's' 'adoption papers', a special birthday card will be mailed to you one year later! Each 'kid' stands about 16" tall with a vinyl head and baby-soft body that has dimpled elbows and knees just like a real baby! And on its bottom is a silk-screened signature of Xavier Roberts, director of Babyland General Hospital. Your 'kid' will arrive wearing its own special baby clothes, disposable diaper. ('Kids', outfits shown will not be the ones you receieve.) Our special 'kids' are so irresistable, you may want to adopt more than one!"
