Students get excited about Global Studies

The opportunity to study the world though the perspective of several great minds over many different centuries is undoubtedly enticing. However, efforts taken by professors within the literature and language departments at Benedictine University to incorporate such an option of study have been unsuccessful. For the past few years, undergraduate students have been offered a World Literature major, in which literature from many different cultures served as the primary focus of study. Chairpersons from the language and literature departments chose to stop offering the major because it did not generate enough student interest.
