The variety of disciplines covered in Global Studies may include literature, political science, history and anthropology. However, bringing these subjects together into one major will take considerable effort by all of those involved.
"Faculty members and students must be willing to cross disciplines to work together, which can be hard to do at a small school," said Chen.
Due to the fact that the proposed curriculum for Global Studies overlaps with many different majors, it can easily be acquired as a double major for many students. This field of study may interest literature and history students in particular, as the curriculum will most likely have the most overlap with these majors.
