NHC Valentines Day Decorations:  Interactors stayed after school one day to make Valentines Day decorations for the nursing home.  After finishing, members took them to the nursing home to hang up in the residents' rooms.  While the residents enjoyed the hearts and roses that we made, they really enjoyed having someone to visit with them.

City Worker Appreciation:  Wanting to show our appreciation for all the city workers do for Cookeville, Interact purchased sheet cakes from Krogers and took them to the firestations, police station, sheriff's office, and EMS station for the workers to have.  They do so much for the community, and we wanted them to know how much their work meant for us.
February 17-20, 2004
After School Reading at Capshaw:  Each day after school this week, Interactors go to the Elementary school to read to the children in SAC.  They read anything from Dr. Suess to the Bernstein Bears, anything to get the children excited about reading.
February 17,24 and March 2,9, 2004
Spanish Club at Heavenly Host: Each of these days after school, Interactors went to the school and helped out in anyway needed.  They helped the children cook a Spanish dish, learn about a Spanish artist, and make a craft.
February 23-27, 2004
Kids Putnam:  Kids Putnam is a daycare for handicapped and low income children.  Each day after school this week, two Interactors go to the daycare to help out anyway they can.  They clean the rooms, read to and play with the children, and just provide a little bit of extra attention to these special children.

CHS Homecoming Parade:  Interactors decided to participate in the school parade this year.  Club members decorated Interact-Rotary Liaison, Daisha Mackzum's truck with 3-D paint, posters, and balloons, and then rode in the back of the truck in the parade.

Fall Blood Drive:  Each year Interact hosts two blood drives at the high school.  Before the fall blood drive, Interactors set up a table during lunches for two weeks to sign-up people to donate blood and to give them their appointment cards.  On the day of blood drive, Interactors came to school at 6:20 to help set up for the blood drive.  Then several Interactors worked during each block that day making sure that the donors had drinks and a snack before they left, checking people off as they arrived, and directing them through the multiple steps before they donated blood.

Academic Team Scoring:  Interactors helped keep score at the tournament the CHS Academic Team hosted.  Club members arrived at 8:00am to receive instructions on how to time and keep score for the rounds.  The scorers were then paired with a reader and sent to a designated room where they worked for multiple rounds.

Veterans Day Program:  The high school had a Veterans Day Program in honor of all the Veterans.  After the programs, refreshments were offered, and the club had decided to purchase a vegetable plate for this event.
November 15, 2003
Trash Pick-up:  Club members met on Saturday morning in the school project to pick-up trash around school grounds.  After being given gloves and trash bags, Interactors divided up to cover the ground quickly.  Only a little while later, Interactors were able to go home, leaving the school grounds litter free.
November 22, 2003
Landscaping the School Plot:  Club members met on Saturday morning by our school plot to help pull up weeds and mulch.  Quickly Interactors found an area of the plot to work on and pulled up all the weeds.  Once this was done, Interactors mulched the bed, preparing it for later when we would plant flowers.
November 8-12, 2003
American Legions Canned Food Drive:  The Club decided to organize the canned food drive at the high school once again this year.  A paper bag with a note explaining the project was placed in the mailbox of every teacher, asking them to have their first block collect canned food.  The three classes that collected the most canned food received a doughnut party.
December 12, 2003
Special Ed Christmas Stockings:  The Club decided to prepare Christmas Stockings for the Special Ed class for their Christmas party.  Interactors assembled the stockings one day after school including such things as bubbles and tons of candy in each one, after writing each students name on a stocking.
