Attendance Policy

* Attendance to ALL meetings, both in school and out of school, is mandatory.  Attendance is vital to being a functioning member in good standing.  Therefore, unexcused absences are intolerable.  On a member's second unexcused absence, he will receive written notification of his absences, which will state that one more unexcused absence will result in automatic termination from the club.  On the third unexcused absence, membership automatically terminates.

* Absences for legitimate reasons may be excused and not penalize a member.  Reasons to excuse absences include: illness of yourself or a family member, job commitments, unavoidable family obligations, school trips, sports games or practices, rehearsals, etc.  The legitimacy of excuses will be determined at the discretion of the officers and sponsors.  Excuses for absences should be placed into an envelope outside a sponsor's room prior to the meeting.  In case of absences from school, one has until the Friday after the meeting to present his excuse.  No excuses will be accepted after the week of the meeting.
Credit Policy

* Two projects are mandatory to be a member in good standing and retain membership.
          1.  Fall Car Wash - Pledge Sheet with a minimum of $25.
          2.  Spring Car Wash - Pledge Sheet with a minimum of $25

* In order to be a member in good standing and retain membership to the club for the following year,  members will be required to earn a total of
10 credits by the end of the year.

          1.  Seven of the Credits earned by a member must be community service credits.
          2.  Three of the credits earned by a member must be club service credits.

* In theory, each member should get at least one community service credit per month, totaling about seven by the end of the year.  Generally, fall brings more opportunities for service than spring does, so it is prudent not to wait to begin getting credits.  The  fowlling process earns credits:

1.  Sign up on the proper sheet for the service than you plan to do.
2.  Show up at that site on time and sign-in on the provided sheet to ensure you get credit for            you work.
3.  Keep and accurate record of the projects you participate in by listing them and the number           of hours you worked on the credit sheet you have been provided.

*
Five of the ten credits required must be obtained and accounted for by Christmas
break in order to be a member in good standing.
* Seven credits are required to attend conference in March.
* Ten credits must be obtained by the end of the year to retain membership.

  Note:
Club credits will be given for working the annual fundraisers, which are the two car
washes.  Generally, there are three shifts for each car wash.  For each shift, one
club credit will be given.  One may also, obtain club credits by working on the
scrapbook in the spring.  Althogh there is no limit as to how many club credits a
member may obatain, only three will be counted toward a person's ten credits to
retain membership.   Therefore, at least seven of your credits have to involve service,
           the purpose of Interact.

* In order to be a member in good standing, one must have participated in both of the club
fundraisers and must have reached each of the three credit check points at the given time.
