October 20-24, 2003
After School Reading at Parkview:  Each day after school this week, two Interactors go to the Elementary school to read to children in the SAC program.   They read everything from Dr. Suess to the Bernstein Bears, anything to get the children excited about reading.

Animal Shelter:  Interactors signed up for two hour shifts to work at the Animal Shelter one Saturday.  They did anything that was needed whether it be cleaning out cages, playing with the cats, walking the dogs, or mopping the reception area.

Kids Putnam:  Kids Putnam is a daycare for handicapped and low-income children.  Each day after school this week, Interactors go to the daycare to assist with anything they need to.  They clean the rooms, read to and play with the children, and just provided extra attention to these special children.

Enchanted Kingdom: This event is a Halloween activity for young children.  The children are taken on a hayride, visit fairy tale characters, make crafts, blow bubbles, and build with blocks.  Some Interactors worked at the different booths, while others dressed up as fairy tale characters.
October 29-30, 2003
NHC Trick-or-Treating:  Interactors dressed up in a variety of different costumes on Halloween night and went to the nursing home.  Once there they made sure the residents had plenty of candy to hand out to the small goblins and ghosts that were trick-or-treating down the halls of the nursing home.
November 3-7, 2003
Kids Putnam:  Kids Putnam is a daycare for handicapped and low-income children.  Each day after school this week, Interactors go to the daycare to assist with anything they need to.  They clean the rooms, read to and play with the children, and just provided extra attention to these special children.

NHC Thanksgiving Decorations:  Interactors stayed after school one day to make Thanksgiving decorations for the nursing home.  Once completed, they were taken to NHC and hung up in residents rooms.  While the residents enjoyed the Indians and Pilgrims we made, they really enjoyed having someone to visit with.

Animal Shelter Supplies:  sInteractors wanted to do something to assist our local Animal Shelter, so we called to see what supplies they needed.  Club members then purchased bleach, litter, dish soap, and other products and donated them to the animal shelter.  The supplies were greatly appreciated.

Genesis House Paper Drive:  Interactors wanted to do something to help the Genesis House, a shelter for battered women and children, so twe called and asked what the club could do to help.  They informed us that they were running low on paper products, such as toilet paper, tissues, and paper towels.  Interactors bought these supplies and donated them to the Genesis House.

Christmas Parade:  Interactors met at the corner of 6th and Washington to get their trash forks and garbage bags.  Then they formed a line at the back of the parade and picked up any and all trash along their way, making sure that the streets were litter free after the parade was over.

NHC Christmas Decorations:  Interactors stayed after school one day to make Christmas decorations for the nursing home.  Once completed, they were taken to NHC and hung up in residents rooms.  While the residents enjoyed the Santas and Christmas trees we made, they really enjoyed having someone to visit with.
