| 3. The aim of international service in Interact is to encourage and foster the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world of fellowship of youth united in the ideal of service. The aim of community and school service is to encourage and foster the application of the ideal of service of each Interact Club member to his personal, community, and school life. Article 8: Committees 1. The president, with the approval of the board, may appoint special committees as he may deem necessary, citing their duties at the time of appointment. All such special committees shall lapse upon completion of their duties, upon discharge by the appointing president, or with the end of his term of office, whichever occurs first. 2. No committee shall take any action to carry out its plan until those plans have been approved by the majority of the club membership. Article 9: Fees and Dues Additional fees of the club, such as dues, shall be nominal and only used for the purpose of meeting the administrative costs of the club. All fees and dues must be paid before a members is considered in good standing. Article 10: Acceptance of Constitution and By-Laws Every member of the club, by acceptance of his membership, thereby accepts the principles of Interact as expressed in its purpose and goals and submits himself to and agrees to comply with and be bound by the constitution and by-laws of this club, and on these conditions alone is entitled to privileges of the club. No member shall be absolved from the observance of the constitution and by-laws on the plea that he has not received a copy of them. Article 11: By-Laws This club shall adopt the following set of Interat by-laws, together with such amendments as are not inconsistent with this constitution and which may be deemed necessary or convenient for the government of the club, provided that such amendments are adopted in accordance with the amendment prescribed in the following Interact club by-laws.
