Direct Democracy
I think that government is like a car, you buy it when it�s new and shiny and pretty and you love it. After a couple years it doesn�t shine as much anymore but it still runs well. After a couple more years it starts breaking down, so you take it to the shop and get it fixed. After a few more years it starts breaking down more often and the problems get so bad that some parts can�t even be fixed, they have to be replaced. Then one day things get to a point where they can�t be fixed and you gotta send that car the big junkyard in the sky and buy a new one and start over. Nothing lasts forever except God, and eventually our system will have to be replaced by a completely new government if we hope to survive and remain on top. I think the best decision made by the many is always a compromise, so along those lines I suggest that next time we look at all the governments that have risen and fallen since the dawn of time, take what was good from those and write down everything that was bad and caused things to eventually crumble. After that I think we should come up with alternatives to all the bad things and add them to our list of good things and that will be our best government. Ideally, each citizen should be able not only to vote on the election of officials, but able to vote individually on every proposition which is suggested as a law in the area in which they live be it on the city, state, or federal level. Officials should only be responsible for suggesting reforms as our representatives, not voting on them for us. I think Internet voting would be the best way to go if there was a way to get computers available to every citizen and make sure no one could vote more than once.
