Kate, Ellie and Trent have all been living alone in their own way. This all begins to change after Kate wakes up from a coma in an orphanage where she is befriended by Ellie. They soon find similarities between them and take enjoy each others company. Having locked much of her past away, Kate unleashes her emotions to Ellie one night after hearing of her fathers' suicide. Now with no family left, Kate doesn't want to be alone any longer. Ellie too wishes to have someone with her as she has been at the orphanage for ten years.
Dr. Trent Phillips was always a workaholic and put his patients before his own life. Having given up on a marriage many years ago he finally realizes that he wants to have a family. Being almost fifty years old he decides that he will adopt instead. Already being friends with the orphanage owners, Trent decides that he will adopt from them as he has a past history with the orphanage. With this the decision, the three will soon find what they were looking for all along, a family.

Gunmen nab Tess and carry her off to be tortured to death as penance for the loss of family. Paul runs to the aid of his love with his long time friend, Chris, who is the son of Matteo Bossini himself. Where they find themselves in a standoff between bosses and they are caught in the middle.
