3. OPENING PRAYER

 Our Lord, who appoints the right people at the right moment to carry out your mission, helps us to listen to Your call. Help us Lord not to evade Your call, but to surrender ourselves to it. Give us Lord, the mind to precede our journey of life through dedication. Make this conference a means to take us to the wonderful light from the pitch darkness. In the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ – Amen.

 4. THANKS GIVING

 " O come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!"

(Psalms 95:1-2)

L: God who has given His son to the world to bring back those who has gone astray to the path of salvation -

L: God who has given parents, brothers and sisters to make our lives comfortable and to enrich us physically and spiritually –

L: Our God who has given us a blessed society to share our views, to make our transactions sweet, and to love us and to be loved –

 5. CONFESSION

 "The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise" (Psalms 51:17)

L: O Lord, we submitted, ourselves more to the influence of the media than to Your words –

L: O Father, for our selfish benefits we exploited the beauty of the beautiful world You created, and polluted the surroundings –

L: O God, You have given us a centum to work, but we indulged in self glorification without caring for the perishing souls –

L: O Father, we failed to inculcate in the coming generation a dedicated life of prayer that excels the longing for revenge and devastation –

L: O Father, we didn't try to make the Church and the society fertile fields of love by mending the broken threads of love –

 6. READING THE WORD OF GOD                     Luke.  1: 26 - 38

 7. INTERCESSION

 L: Let us remember the children who are thrown to the streets while we are enjoying all the blessings of life. Let us pray for 'Asraya' that Samajam started at Kollam for their rehabilitation. Let us pray to God to provide all the means to lift them to the main stream of life.

 L: Different means that deviate man from God vault up day by day. Let us pray sincerely to God to give us the capacity to see that though they are modern, they are by no means superior to God. Let us request our Lord to give us the strength to declare that, ‘I will stand close to my Lord, and words glorifying him shall always arise from my lips, in spite of all the influencing forces.’

 L: In this era where personal prayers and family prayers are all dwindling, let us pray to God to give us the strength to declare like Joshua "As for my family and me, we will serve the Lord". Let us pray to the God of light to lead us, lead our family and lead our society.

 8. CONCLUDING PRAYER (All together)

 Eternal God and loving Father, the ever increasing accidents, atrocities and adversaries all declare the decline of love of God. We pray you, God to help us to fill the divine love in these gaps caused by the falling out of love. O God, make this conference a means to make us the bearers of God's love and a means to respond to the call of God by submitting ourselves to you. Father, give us the strength and grace to keep up the insight we get from this conference – Amen.
