Toby Keith

Toby Keith songs reflects his lifestyle in which he grew to manhood. His lyrics honor his strongly felt values of family, hard work, and the U.S.A. Toby Keith, one of country music’s biggest stars, is back on tour, this time to promote his latest album "Honky Tong University." The Oklahoma native is sure to put on a good show having sold millions of albums behind such hits as “Who’s Your Daddy,” “When We Were In Love,” “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American),” and many others. Keith recently signed a deal with Harrah's Las Vegas to launch a new country-themed bar and restaurant, scheduled to open its doors next summer. The restaurant will offer American casual food, and the bar/lounge will feature Keith music and videos, a special recording studio, private dining area, stage and dance floor for live country acts, and surprise personal appearances by Keith himself. Keith's trek has draws crowds approximately 40,000-plus fans. His album’s, Greatest Hits 2, first single, "Stays in Mexico," is already getting airplay on country radio stations. The singer's latest all-new album is 2002's Shock 'N Y'all, which is certified triple-platinum in the U.S. Greatest Hits 2 features 11 tracks from previous Keith albums and three new tracks. Besides "Stays in Mexico," the new songs include a cover of the James Taylor/Carly Simon duet "Mockingbird" that features Keith's 16-year-old daughter Crystal, and "Go with Her."

Born and raised in Oklahoma, Toby Keith began performing in his grandmother’s night club. He started his career in an oil industry and was a defensive player with Oklahoma City Drillers State Football League team. Toby Keith became a favorite solo performer there in the 90s. His 1993 debut album TOBY KEITH featured "Should've Been a Cowboy," which went to No. 1 on the Billboard country singles chart. His self-titled album was a certified platinum along with three other #1 hits on the country charts: “Wish I Didn’t Know Now,” He Ain’t Worth Missing,” and “A Little Less Talk & A Lot More Action.” Billboard Magazine declared him Top New Country Artist. Over the next decade, Toby Keith released ten albums, most going platinum - and tickets to his concerts became a red-hot commodity. In 2002 when he recorded "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)," a super-patriotic ode to September 11 attack that became one of country's most highly charged political statements. Even people with no knowledge of country music started recognizing him as "the guy with the 'boot in the ass' song," a memorable lyric from that song. It introduced him to a more mainstream audience. The 2002 album Unleashed sold 3 million copies, due to the lively "Who's Your Daddy?" The album spent 65 weeks on the top-10 Billboard Country Albums chart. Keith authorized the re-election of President George W. Bush in 2004 and performed at a Dallas rally on the night before the election.
