This is a trip for Train enthusiast travelers, as this is rated as one of the top 6 train journeys in the world.Departs Christchurch in the morning and travels through some rugged but breath taking scenery toBlenheim, where you will change to luxury coach and travel on through to Nelson where you will stay the night. Day 2 is a full day tour.

You will drive and then board a launch at Kaiteriteri beach before setting off to the Abel Tasman national park. Here you have various scenery hiking options.

Day 3 consists of an early start and travel to enjoy limestone formations, New Zealand native Maori myths, and a walk through the rainforests. Last day, the morning is at your leisure.

A suggestion is to take the optional (extra cost) a trip through shantytown; this is an old mining town.

The best is saved for last as your final train trip home will take you through many tunnels, viaducts, over mountain ranges, and will arrive safely back to Christchurch at around 6:35 pm.
