The Animal Kingdom Foundation has collected a number of achievements throughout its stint as an organization.
Among others, AKF has teamed up with the public safety division of the Philippine
National Police (PNP) and signed a law against dog meat traders last
2009. Prior to this, they had also joined forces with the Boy Scouts of
the Philippines continuing these efforts.
In 2006, AKF partnered with the PNP, National Meat Inspection Service
(NMIS), and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)
to conduct seminars aroung the Region IV and VI areas of the
Philippines. The seminar sponsored by AKF was conducted to spread
awareness on the Republic Act 8485, also known as the Animal Welfare
Law and Administrative Order No. 10, Rules on the Transport of Dogs and
Cats, and Rules on Engagement on Violators of this Law.
AKF has also found homes for many rescued dogs. After rehabilitating
these traumatized dogs, they are sent to loving homes that uphold their
rights. This, together with AKF's other achievements and initiatives
has contributed to the well-being of animals in the Philippines.
