Commercial Airplanes/Jets        Links

There is just something about commercial jets that I just can't get enough of.  They are physical wonders of our modern world.  They are...beautiful, and as odd as that sounds, I really love looking at these big "birds."  I have compiled a page of airliners that really get me excited, and ones that I have been on as well.  Most photos came from Airliners, a site I higly recommend.  Please respect the photographers work - don't use any images without their permission!
My favorite commercial jet of all time, this plane sends shivers down my spine!  I have never had the pleasure of riding one, but hope to soon!  I just love their widebody, and their enormous wingspan and engines.  On a video I have, it explains how a Boeing 737 fits within the wingpan of a Boeing 777!!

Of the Trijets that were ever made, I really like this one.  Something about that third engiine built into the tail that really just give this plane character.  I have been on a Northwest Airlines Boeing 727, but never on a United Boeing 727, and now these birds are retired from their fleet.

In the Summer of 2001, I took a vacation to Washington DC with my family.  We had roundtrip airfare from General Mitchell International - Milwaukee to Reagan National Airport - Washington D.C.  We flew Midwest Express Airlines.  Midwest Express really impresses me - not only is their hub located at General Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee, their fleet is one of the oldest in the country, flying mostly DC-9's.

They have great planes, even if they are aged a bit, they are kept up well.  Inside, all of Midwest's aircraft have been redone with leather seats,  with 2 aisles of 2 across.  They bake chocolate chip cookies about 10 minutes before landing and hand them out!! They recently changed their name to Midwest Airlines, and purchased some Boeing 717's!

This jet is similar in structure to the Boeing 727 - both models have wings that are set back quite a bit in comparison with more modern jets such as Boeing's 767 or 777 or Airbus' A320.
My Favorite
A shot of Continental Airlines Boeing 737 - the same plane that took me and some friends from Chicage to Dallas to Cancun in the Summer of 1995.  It was my first and only time on Continental, and at the time, my love for airplanes hadn't yet developed, so I don't remember much other than it was my first time on a plane and I loved it.
