| logistics for the day-of and getting here! a big round of applause in appreciation for the folks arranging their schedules to visit this locale for the event of the season! thank you!!! note: distances are in miles from the hotel airport - (11.7mi) it's in the process of an addition, but it's a swell, sweet little airport anyway. when i was with teng&associates i was part of the team that did a peer-review on the construction documents...fun! no public phones in the new portions. crazy. note: this is zone one, so cab fare is $16.25 from the airport to the hotel. hotel - (0mi) mom and i stayed at linden row inn when we came to richmond to find my first apartment here. historic, friendly, and not your run-of-the-mill hotel room! the wedding block rates wil be held through september 30th, 2004. the hotel does have a free shuttle service for within 3 miles of the hotel, which includes the reception location, should you feel like having them pick you up. motorcoach - if you want transportation in town (sometimes it's just too much added confusion to have to juggle new roads!), just let us know before the 15th of october and we'll save you a seat on the motorcoach! it leaves linden row for the ceremony at 12:15 and takes you where you need to be...via a small tour or richmond between the ceremony and reception to cut down on that stand on one foot and then the other type time. phew on that! ceremony - (15.4mi) christ church episcopal is only five minutes from our house! including stoplights! but it's 20 from the hotel. bummer on that. but i am making friends there, and it's handy for sleeping in and still doing the church bit on sunday morning when so inclined. tasha, the woman in the red stole (in a picture in the link), is the priest who will be marrying us! hooray! reception - (2.3mi) the virginia museum of fine arts is where we had our second "real" date (not including actually meeting eachother at the red oak cafe). we wound that day up with my fabulous chili, a viewing of monty python and the holy grail...and falling in love. the wedding reception is actually in the education and outreach building across the parking lot from the VMFA...in the former home for needy confederate women. our apologies, but chili is not on the menu, nor will monty python be showing in the dining area... ! registries - should you feel so inclined, know we have registered at crate & barrel, bed bath & beyond and ross-simons. we'd have registered at lowe's if they had that set up, but they're not quite as cool as home depot yet. ! |
