| what'd i say last yeah, eh? knock your SOCKS off? hah! funny. we practiced all semester ...i even practiced in the car, at work, at ryan's, at kroger's, and in the parking lot. i had three sets to remember for two different numbers... THREE times my previous memory-load of one number! during the finale we danced to 25 seconds of rockin' robin ...followed by 2 minutes of timestepping to american bandstand. phew! terribly fun. the sound of 52 adult sized feet hitting the stage simultaneously in tap-clad shoes was ....well....loud! i laughed. on stage of course. my ever-talented aunt kaki made the pink poodle skirt for just such occasions (she thinks of these things years ahead of time), and i borrowed the costume from becca to become the belle of the bandstand. complete with crinolin, socks, belt, and bandana, i lacked for nothing (she's compulsively complete) and just EVERYONE admired it. hooray for kaki! in the group number: le jazz hot (from victor/victoria) we tapped in about 9 different formations in our 3 minute number....lotsa moving around. i did end incorrectly in the final performance, but other than that, i was stunning. of course. so said the loads of people i recruited to come clap wildly for me. ! next year? you can count on me to be even better. i'll be practicing. in the meantime i'll be learning toe-stands in my monday evening classes. |
