| 2002's recital was themed "rockin' in the USA: a star-spangled tribute to richmond area's finest police officers, fire fighters, and EMTs." and we did tribute them very star spangeled-ly, i must agree. everything was red white and blue, the music was lively; and we had practiced for 20 weeks to know our routines inside and out. we couldn't have been more prepared if we had been boy scouts. there were 16 people in my class (intermediate tap: II & III) and we YEE HAWed our way through "boogie woogie country" from that hit musical "swing." the routine was three minutes (pretty long, comparitively) of upbeat rhythym. of COURSE we all had a blast-- especially 'coz we were dancing on the stage of the landmark theatre. quite impressive. i'll be even better next year --probably'll knock your socks off! |
