so brenda and i like taking classes together at the VMFA, and this time we divided and conquered. she took an elegant fabrics/painting kind of class, i took a velvets type class, and then we BOTH took shibori together from julia pfaff. she was a wonderful teacher for us (flexible, creative, and clear!) and we had a blast. we had so much of a blast that we ordered loads of silk after class had ended and proceded to make christmas presents for our families.
we've periodically gotten together ever since to relive the joy and make carepackage, birthday, and gifts for other fascinating holidays that people didn't know they needed. hoooray for shibori!
