we were there. we saw pete seeger in person. breathed the same air (well...within 6 feet of the man) mom got to shake his hand we even had customized shirts for the event mom's friends (and performers) gave us their backstage passes so we didn't miss a moment. very cool guys...two larrys and a pete. never mind the entire event was in honor of woody guthrie. that's ok, we clapped for arlo and his family, too. but we were really there for pete. !
but we amused ourselves before sitting 7.5 hours on the hard ground on our blanked-marked claim at the outdoor stage waiting breathlessly for pete to sing. i mean, there's the pigeon museum, the 1995 memorial, the zoo, the cowboy museum...we lived it up while we could. oklahoma did not slip by us.
i just want to tell you....it's flatter than the flattest part of the midwest.
