preheat oven to 350 (really)
cream together:   1 cup margerine
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
                         1/2 cup white sugar
                            2 eggs
                            1 tsp vanilla extract
                            1 Tbsp cinnamon
                         1/4 tsp baking soda

mix in these well:

1 1/2 cups white wheat flour
                            3 cups uncooked oatmeal
                               lots of raisens/carob chips/chocolate chips/walnuts/etc...
                                       (...about a cup's worth)

this wins the prize for most fulfilling raw cookie dough eating experience. however, i feel compelled to add that raw-cookie dough eaters may find extra oatmeal (about 3/4 cup) to be helpful in making it more of a finger food. it doesn't come out as swell when you cook it that way though.  so plan ahead.

back to the recipe...
drop in modest globs on an ungreased cookie sheet.  (they spread some, but not a lot)

bake 10-12 minutes
wah lah!

i get more like 36 cookies out of it, but the quaker oats recipie i started with thinks you can get 48.  hah!
