run little running pump, run if you can!
we didn't name the street, but hey, it's home now.
after much ado about the ENS wanting more info on our buyers and postponing selling/buying for what seemed like eternity but was only a couple days, we got ourselves straightend out. alex came in for a three day-two night box hauling extravaganza. not wanting to dissapoint him in our lack of house to move into, we struck up a deal to let us move into the garage (turned out later we could have had the house, too, but i'm letting it go...really...), unloaded the truck, and emptied the apartment into it, then the truck into the garage again.
both loads together probably equalled the better part of a full truck. man. so we went to red robin for dinner and saw THREE friends! jason from richmond (now up here), gregg (from up here whom we've seen in richmond), and mary (from my work). we enlisted the two men to help us unload the pod the next day...they offered...!
5pm the day before alex was to leave at 7am, the pod arrived. it also happened to be when we were signing papers on the house, so i wasn't there to give pod a piece of my mind for being 3 hrs late. the five of us unloaded that thing in 5 hours. yes, that includes the pinball machines and the piano...and all 26 boxes of books. woah.
that weekend, evelyn came to visit to help push boxes into the right rooms and make the kitchen a usable space! and make salsa, of course. ! a couple weekends after THAT, she brought dennis with her to help fix the moldy closet and remove that "entertainment center" from the basement. and make salsa.
hoooray for being in the house, hoooray for all the spiders living with us, hoooray for all the friends who helped make it possible!
(bummer on my lack of photo ops, as i was helping haul the stuff, too) |
