so we did christmas on the run this year. ryan and i took amtrak from DC to LSE... and enjoyed the friends and entertainment along the way. i read two books, he watched movies and played gameboy & psp, and when the man "three sheets to the wind" got on in portage, we perked up our ears to watch the show. the tomah police came to the rescue and hauled him away in handcuffs. we feel fairly certain that the police were at the tomah station before the train was because they were already there when we arrived. it's a true story.
we encored without the fondue (it was 10:30 by the time we got to our abode) and the women prevailed again of course. though the men gave us a run for our money.
food, set, and clean worked seamlessly again, and entertainment was in pairs for the continued team approach. dad and i did a duet (i played the nose harp and dad sang), ryan and becca taught us all how to make oragami rocketship trees, and al and mom led us in a rousing round of christmas facts in five.
we did the candy house the next day, then left with becca to chicago, where we stopped by mimi's to drop off the masterpiece and continue on to art's domain. ...which we left at 3:15am the next day.
it was all a whirlwind of action and relaxation (we can do that!)
