so there he was, receiving his high school diploma, exactly 100 years after his great grandfather EG Ryan had done the same thing. get this --alex is headed off to the same university as EG --illinois! we do have brilliant men in our family, when we manage to find that y chromosome.
in honor of that 100 year thinking, we invited 100 of his closest friends and family (well, maybe a few more) to come in out of the pouring rain and walk through our house --it was great! anne markegard saved the day by acting as chief hostess in charge (keeping food on the table, making sure everything was relaxed), and the rest of us sat back and enjoyed celebrating alex's accomplishments!
and took a lot of pictures.
