yeah....and what full year it has been.
we were pleased ryan could take four days off in a row (including saturday and sunday) to steal away for a weekend...the first vacation we've had this year!
we went on high reccomendation from both john the lesser and amy (moberg), who honeymooned there together a couple years back, to high meadows, a bed and breakfast in scottsville, va. we even stayed in the same cottage as they had...no kidding.
saturday night was the big to do, with a 7 course delectable meal, wine tasting, great waitstaff, and a personable chef crew.? we spent the rest of our weekend driving around the parkway, walking around the vinyard and its adjacent paths, and relaxing in the hot tub.
we made friends with a couple on the brink of their engagement (she had the ring on the next morning at breakfast), and speculated half the evening as to how the proposal would unfold...great entertainment from the outside, though i'm sure it was nervewracking for the proposer/ee.
next year? who knows! maybe we'll keep exploring, maybe we'll make a return trip to hope and glory! |
