The Cob Outhouse
We decided that our first cob project should be small so that we could complete it rather quickly and get an idea of the amount of materials, resources, and  time that would be required for a bigger project.

The cob outhouse is about 6 feet by 5 feet.  It's roughly the shape of an oval.  We completed it over the span of about a month but if you consider that we did not work on it every day, we estimate that it took us two weeks of continuous work (8 hour days).

Total cost of this small structure was $60 for wood. $12 for two glass panes.  $10 for door hardware.  $10 for mortar mix.  $40 for sand. $6 for straw (used 1.5 bales).
$7 for salvaged metal roofing. Oh yeah, and about $5 worth of nails.

TOTAL COST = $150
