The Central Ohio Association
of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc., also known as COAOHN, is the local
organization of nurses and others working in, or interested in, the field
of occupational and environmental health.� Seven Central Ohio counties are currently
represented among its members:� Wyandot, Marion, Union, Delaware,
Franklin, Licking and Madison.� The association is a chapter of the
American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc. and is affiliated
with the Ohio Association of Occupational Health Nurses.
The purposes of COAOHN are to:

constitute the professional
association of registered nurses engaged in the practice of
occupational and environmental health nursing.

promote and provide
lifelong learning opportunities in occupational and environmental
health for members.

maintain the integrity and
character of the nursing profession.
-
develop and promote the
scope of practice and standards for occupational and environmental
health nurses to improve population focused nursing services.

advance the profession
through discussion of issues in the field of occupational health and
environmental health nursing.
-
promote health and safety
of workers and communities and support occupational and environmental
health nursing practice through monitoring and influencing legislation
and regulations.

stimulate occupational and
environmental health nurse participation in all activities with AAOHN
and its chapters.�

do within the limits of the
law all things necessary, proper, incidental, suitable, useful, and
conducive to the complete accomplishments of the foregoing purposes.
