Talk� KOJA, KATHE (2005) New York, NY: Frances Foster Books. Novel. Kit Webster is hiding a secret. Carma, his best friend has already figured it out and pushes him to audition for the High School play, Talk. Enjoyable book.

The Best Little Boy in the World� TOBIAS, ANDREW (1973,1976)  New York, NY: Ballantine Books. Novel. The book is about a normal boy growing up gay. The main character is often comical, and not a boy you�d suspect to be gay.

The Boys on the Rock� FOX, JOHN (1984) New York, NY: St. Martin�s Press.
Novel. Story about a high school student in the Bronx. An excellent coming of age story. Very realistic. I was kind of sad to see it end because Billy had gone through many experiences  which are a part of growing up. The book closes with Billy recovering from his first real love and preparing for a new year mentally.

The Coming Storm�  RUSSELL, PAUL (Publication date: 09-01-2000)  New York, NY: St. Martin�s Press.

The Drowning of Stephan Jones�  GREENE, BETTE (1991) New York, NY: Bantam Doubleday Dell Books for Young Readers. Novel. This is an excellent book exploring the making of a battered and murdered gay boy hate crime. It explores what makes men hate and how people justify their hate. When justice is not served by the court the book ends with a comical twist. 

The Hardly Boys in A Ghost in the Closet�  MANEY, MABEL (1995) San Francisco, CA: Cleis Press Inc. Mystery Novel.

The Lord Won�t Mind� MERRICK, GORDON(1970) Los Angeles * New York: Alyson Books. Novel. Set around the time of World War I, this book dives into the lives of two young men brought together for friendship just after high school graduation. Charlie and Peter are attracted to each other from day one. Their hot passionate making of love is described in vivid detail. Peter sees it as love, but for Charlie, a want to be straight boy, it must be kept secret from the world due to his overwhelming desire to please his controlling grandmother. The boys go through many trials and tribulations as they learn about love and being gay. Will Charlie and Peter stick together or fall apart due to the social pressures? What happens as summer fades away? Will the controlling grandmother discover their secret? Do you really want me to tell you? I didn�t think so.
